The pillows were hard and uncomfortable I prefer smaller pillows, the rooms are small.

The coffee in the reception is probably the best coffee in amsterdam if you go for the cappuccino! Very close to the central shops and canals very close

The noise isolation was really bad, you will here every single speech or move in adjacent rooms and the corridor, I woke up twice in the middle of night because of surrounding noise!!!! The room size was very small, but will not complain because it was my choice to get the single small room

The staff were really nice The location of the hotel was good, almost at the tram station and 15 mins from centraal

The single room was pricey for the size and not close to the central station but you can take a trolley during the day which was located nearby. Good for an one night stay.

Staff was helpful and location was easy to locate.

I knew the room would be small, but it was so small that I couldn't put my suitcase on the floor without blocking either the room door or the bathroom door; there was no other place for it. SUGGESTION: the bathroom sink was right next to the toilet, and I almost dipped my nightgown into the toilet water several times because it did not have a lid. A lid would be really helpful. Also a few more hooks in the bathroom and room. And at least a plastic drinking glass. The faucet was so close to the tiny sink that I couldn't use it to fill my medium water bottle without cupping the water to funnel it into the bottle - not so sanitary...

I liked the location on Prinsengracht. The hotel staff were quite helpful, calling several restaurants to help me make last-minute reservations. I was glad there was a fan in the tiny room. And thank goodness, there was a window. The bed was comfortable, too. I appreciated being able to change the length of my reservation right up to 2 days before.

Great location, comfy beds, welcoming staff, cramped room lacked proper space to move about
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Standard Double or Twin Room

There's not much the hotel can do about this - Our double-bedroom was really cramped .. very small in area. Didn't expect it to be that small. There's the double-bed, a few round stools, a narrow dressing table, a TV on the wall (which we didn't bother watching), and almost no wardrobe except for a few hangers next to the table. If you are travelling with large suitcases (we were'nt) or big Backpacks you'll struggle for space so keep that in mind. (we had 2 small airplane-cabin suitcases so had slightly less issue.) We didn't get a canal view room so can't say much of the views. (Were told you need to reserve canal side much in advance).

Hotel location is by the Prinsengracht canal, and is adequately served by Trams 2 and 12 from the Amsterdam Centraal station. One could walk the distance for a better feel of the city. Location of this hotel is a BIG plus - its right next to Leidseplein area which is adequately served by other Trams (num 5), has plenty of food options ... really you'd be spoilt for choice ... proper restaurants as well as fast-food joints of all sizes, and supermarkets close-by. Also nightclubs around, then there's Holland Casino and the Lido ... all within 5-8 mins. walking distance. The area is also probably 15-20 mins walking distance from the happening Dam square and the shopping area. Room wise - There was a table fan provided in the room which was a welcome addition. Beds were cozy and comfy. Room starts and ends with the beds ... not much walking space in room; but then there's the sorrounding streets in this part of the city to get your legs to walk ... so why bother them in the room!! Bathroom was quite narrow as well though had good hot water supply, adequate shower gels in dispensers, a working hair-dryer. A coffee machine in the small'ish lobby area gives a few coffee options, that you can take and sit and drink there in the lobby. Apples were provided in this same area on all days that we stayed. Lobby area is good well-kept, well-lit with quite a few plug sockets ... lobby itself is pretty small.

No lift. No fridge which is common for this-many-star hotels in Europe though. In a room at top floor, no shower curtain, you should do squat not to get the bathroom floor wet while taking a shower.

Great location. Clean room. 24/7 reception. Even at the center of downtownish area, the building is surrounded by other buildings so it is quiet enough.

Room wasn't very sound isolated, could hear people arguing in the corridor near my room at 4am on the last night of my stay. Thicker walls would probably help.

Staff very kind, let me leave bags at the hotel before check in and again for a few hours on my last day after check out. Location was very convenient for museums, good food and live music etc
