Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe didn't mind, but property doesn't offer breakfast.
Small, but clean room with modern bathroom and aircon unit. Quiet location so good night sleep guaranteed. Very steep and narrow steps (like everywhere else in Amsterdam), but has a tiny mini lift which is an amusment on its own . Nice staff in reception, you can leave the luggage before/after checknin/checkout. Located around 35 minutes walk from the Central station and 30 from Dam square, but plenty bars, cafes and shops on the way so feels like you are in the centre of it.

NetherlandsThe elevator only goes up until the 3rd floor and our room was on the 4th, which was no issue, but might be good to know. The room itself was quite small, but really doable with only 2 people. The bed was really comfy and nice and everything was nice and clean.

TurkeyHotel room is a bit claustrophobic, this is most likely due to that, the hotel is converted from an old amsterdam building, therefore understandable from my point of view. Room description was room with a view, however, we had a room looking over a tight backyard, therefore it was hardly to describe a view. It will be better rooms on the back side of the building shall better be described with backyard view statement, otherwise it creates confusion and you are expecting a much wider view with typical amsterdam canal or street.
Location of the hotel is great, it is very easy to reach most of the important places by foot. A few steps from the hotel door and you are near one of the main canals. It is also on route of main transportation, therefore usage of public transportation is not a problem. Hotel personel refreshes coffee and tea daily, so you may grab your morning drink, cross the street and may enjoy it by the canal easily. Great way to start your Amsterdam day :)

United KingdomPerhaps just the stairs but that’s not a big deal really since all stairs in amsterdam are steep.
Spot on for the price, location, comfort and staffs! Can’t ask for more!

United KingdomThis isn't a complaint as not an issue for us, we didn't mind taking the stairs, but the top floor is only accessible by a steep and narrow staircase. There are also very steep steps into the property.
It was absolutely worth booking a canal view room! Rooms are cosy and compact but we found it perfectly fine for 2. Everything was clean, coffee machine and mini fridge were perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location if you want to be central ish and walkable to the busy areas, but staying far enough away from it being hectic. Absolutely would stay here again. The "slowest" (also, smallest?!) "lift " in Amsterdam was also a novelty in itself!!!

United KingdomAs a typical Dutch building, it has a very steep staircase. There is an elevator but it does not cover the floor where single rooms are located. I happened to stay here when it was very cold (zero degree celsius during the day and minus five during the night) and the heating felt rather insufficient (the air conditioner is up on the wall and the hot air doesn't come down very quickly). It would have been nice if they had a small heater for these cold days. (But they generously provided me with extra blanket and it wasn't too cold in bed.)
The staff was extremely helpful. The room is not big but had everything I want for a decent accommodation - hair dryer, kettle, coffee machine, and even a small fridge and a safe. The bed and blanket were super comfy and I had very good sleep during my stay. The location is fantastic - close to trams, major museums, and affordable supermarkets.

United States of AmericaRoom was small by our standards, but that is common for the city.
Great location once you get familiar with the area, we stayed in a basement room down a little staircase with a walkout onto a patio area. Very small and size-efficient but clean. We did have an issue with a shower back-up, but it was addressed by the staff.

HungaryThe hotel is small and has very steep stairs, the elevator was broken all the five days I was staying there despite the promises to fix it. I stayed on the top floor and it takes a fit person to go up and down on these stairs. The single bedroom and bathroom are tiny, but you can wash your hands sitting on the toilet :)
The hotel is conveniently located close to Leidseplein and a lot of attractions and places of interest are within walking distance. The room is clean and there is a coffee/tea machine which is great, as well as private shower.

Malaysiasteep steps up to 4th floor to climb nearly vertically with luggage was a challenge for a senior! The staff should be more conscious to which age group the allocate the rooms in 4th floor. There was no offer to help. The tine lift without inner doors( to the 3rd floor) is quite an adventure and not for claustrophobic or fearfully people.
