Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe kitchen is rather small. So I wouldn't recommend the place if you want to cook something "bigger" everyday.
The staff was really nice. Everything was clean and the location in the middle of the Museums Quarter is very convenient. I can totally recommend staying at the Flying Pig Uptown if you are looking for a fun place to stay.

United States of AmericaThere is no elevator, so walking up five steep flights of stairs with all the luggage was difficult, definitely do not recommend booking if you don't like stairs.
I was able to book last minute, which was very convenient, and the staff was very kind when I arrived late at night and left early in the morning. The bed was comfortable and there was a metal box under the bed that you could easily put your stuff in. There was also a sink in the room so you could brush your teeth in the room instead of having to leave.

ArgentinaThe kitchen is very small and i would not leave my groceries there since anyone (most likely) could take your food. A little bit noisy if you want to rest after a long day of touristing. The rooms are not also very well ventilated.
Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. The partying vibes are on point, the hostel is full of young people from all over the world. The breakfast is alright, although there could be more variety of food!

SpainBe prepared for the stairs. But that's just Amsterdam.
Very cool, the kitchen was a bit small but alright. Enough bathrooms and showers everywhere (and clean). The location is great if you want to see the museums and the city center is walking distance and quite nice. You've also got the park next to the Hostel with a very nice and fancy neighbourhood surrounding it.

GermanyBreakfast was okay, but it said it was supposed to be 7 euros. Charged 8 euros for each person in the end. When we started eating there wasn't much food left and it took some time for the refill.
The bar and huge room was a plus for me. Staff is really friendly and helpful and everything was really clean. My aunt celebrated her 72nd birthday there in the bar with a cocktail and liked the whole establishment a lot as well.

Czech Republic1) it's really a lot of stairs 2) no lift .. 3) capsule bathroom in corridors need a little reconstruction or move, switch 4) my bed was (in back part) hit by main room door during every opening and frontal part of my bed was hit during every opening door of WC located inside my room, really not very sofisticated Feng shui or interior architecture of bed ... 5) sometimes are receptionist cool and sometimes looks like overworked 6) offer of food is modest but if u want something they told you "use automat" with Snickers..hmm 7) breakfast is modest and simply, coffee and juice and toast, but later is only coffee, if u want one, u must pay whole breakfast ..8 euro for coffee is a little too much, I think, but around hostel is many opportunities to be happy Hard to say, concept of hipster Amsterdam hostel .. should be a little nostalgic .. chain flying pig is also in USA and popular top...probably good for hipster or somebkdy who love be close that era... A little noisy and really full ... in "World Championship of stairs in hostel"... Should be in classification or minimal barrage, but existed bigger challenge like Amigo hostel in Amsterdam...
I was there 2-3 times. But exists also another one in Amsterdam 1) good location in Vondelpark, close to Melkweg, Bourbon street, Rijksmuseum and center of Amsterdam 2) hipster decoration 3) receptionist in cool mood 4) helpfully staff f e girl from India, Irish guy, afro-american with pink hair 5) good programme downstairs in bar ..f.e. karaoke party, reproduce music also ok 6) many toilets and bathroom in corridors, in every floor and in some rooms 7) nice view to the park

United States of AmericaThe sinks where quite small. It was difficult for me to do my morning skincare/shaving routine. There really isnt much to complain about. Yes it can be loud at night sometimes but I think every hostel is like that.
Great place for solo travelers. Its easy to make friends here if you take seat in the bar/smoking area for a few hours and relax. The shower water pressure is great, and so hot. The beds are soft, the sheets are nice. On the first night I was here I got a bad stomach pain and the staff helped me and accommodated me until all night, they even offered me stomach indigestion pills because the pharmacy was closed and I couldnt get them.

NetherlandsThe lack of a cabin to change clothes was a big problem, we had to change in the shower. The common areas were clean, but they could be cleaned a little more frequently because so many people stay here and use the common areas. Other than that, everything was fine, especially the location of the hostel was very good, you can walk everywhere.
