Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

location on the square for 40 quid a night, whats not to like. The comfort room is a bit tired and low roofs. But I am paying next to nowt for a top location in an old building. Felt secure and was spotless.

Just general upkeep of the room and maybe a fresh coat of paint.
2nd floor so 4 flights of stairs but not overly differcult. The room was nice and spacious. The decor was a little dated and the room could do with a little TLC but overall very comfortable. Location absolutely perfect as only 30 seconds from the main square. View onto the square so if you like people watching this would be ideal for you.

The room was a little bit tired, but it is ok for the price I paid. Probably with a time it will be upgraded. The bathroom was ok and modern. You can see that step by step the hotel is working on getting better. Be careful, there is no elevator in the building and the levels are large.
The Location is great, 10 minutes away from the Main Train Station, and just at the main square. Kind and helpful staff. Clean room and bathroom. The room was in the old building with "ambiance" I loved it.

No reception open after 6 in the evening. It was just my son and I, I was aware that if there was a problem we were very much on our own. We saw 2 people the whole time we stayed which wasn’t an issue but felt a little isolated.
Excellent location, right on the square.

Just a shame no breakfast.... plenty of places to eat nearby but really enjoy a good continental when away.
Great location and large room. Been here many times and will go many more.

The bath was exceptionally small and you didn't get enough hot water for a full bath but it was hot enough for a shower. We woke up one morning to someone had defecated on one of the steps which wasn't the hotels fault but still wasn't very nice for my child to see.
The Location is amazing right on the square , there is a chemist right opposite , and plenty of shops / food places around. the staff were friendly and helpful. And the apartment was spacious. The old chimney heater was a great at heating the room and keeping it warm all night. We had a fridge and microwave and cooker top and kettle in the kitchen.

Nothing. We were only unable to get any Polish TV on the cable which frustrated my dad.
I'm grateful we could get into the room earlier than stated. I was exhausted travelling to Krakow to meet with my dad for my birthday and we had a wonderful stay at the La Fontaine! Premises were clean and tidy. I liked the building too, which was right at the corner of the main square and also full of history: here stayed Tsar Nikolai I, Goethe and Stalin. Very nice history. Recommend it to everyone!

Lots of flights of stairs to room. A strange setup in the room, 2 big steps up into the bathroom. The second double bed was on a raised platform under a lowered ceiling (similar to being under the stairs) so you could not stand up to get into bed.
Ideal location. A few yards from main square Comfy beds.

No lift, so just need to keep in mind if you have old people or younger kids in the Group.

The loudness of the bars on the Friday night, matresses, Banging and slamming
Location was perfect, beautiful apartment loved it, only down fall was when it hit the weekend it was very loud, and alot of banging and slamming

Beds are not too comfortable but are reasonable for a few nights' sleep .
The location was on point . Just on a side from Big Square . Quiet and warm. Small fridge , good-size shower . Everything what is needed for a short stay .

The beds were very uncomfortable and small like a toddler bed. Check in details were not sent so had to ask for them. TV and WiFi didn't work

The Wifi only worked for few hours, the other day it didnt work at all. In front of the door to the hotel there were many times that some homeless people sat there. First night there was also a homeless person sleeping on a couch in the hall.
The hotel was at the best location, just around the corner was the main square. The receptionicts was very nice and sweet. Room was spacious and very pretty. We had a little lofted area which was just stunning. There was also a small kitchen with everything you could need.

Nothing really. Tea and coffee facilities would have been an added bonus but didn't spoil anything. Stairs could be an issue if you have trouble with mobility.
The location was absolutely amazing! Few strides away from the square where you can access everything you need. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a fridge and microwave and kettle although no tea or coffee etc. However, there was a shop just a little way up the road where you could purchase what you needed or Costa was just around the corner. Location was quite, no issues with noise. Just what we needed for our short stay in the city. Would definitely recommend it and would rebook.

There’s only a tiny bathroom bin and as I did not have housekeeping for my 3 night stay it meant my rubbish was piling up
Great location, dead centre and close to everything. Even though it’s right next to the square you can’t hear all the noise. Room was big and spacious, and some shared kitchen facilities available. Wifi was great never dropped out or disconnected.
