Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

New reception staff not all as friendly as they could be. Some are lovely but some a little cold. No pool bar snacks available during our stay.
Great location and nice style hotel - feels homely and not like a chain in a good way. The breakfast is great and the room and bed comfortable,

Pool closes at 6pm so didn’t get to enjoy it in the evening. An email mentioned that we would be able to do an early check-in but the room wasn’t ready when we got there. We were told we could leave our bags so we got ready but within half hour the room was ready.
Didn’t know that breakfast would be included so it was a nice bonus!

Some things in our room are showing their age, especially in the bathroom. It was fine, but an upgrade would turn my "good" (facilities and cleanliness) review into an "excellent".
The best thing about this place, imho, is the location. One minute walk and you're on the beach. It also has a very nice breakfast with freshly made orange juice that is outstanding! We also really enjoyed, Imran, one of the receptionists at the hotel. He was great!

I would have liked to have had an English channel on the TV as being a solo traveller it would have been nice.

Terrible humidity in the room, musty moldy smell. My clothes got damp. The breakfast room staff was the rudest ever.

It was a shame that the pool wasn't open. We didn't know this until a couple of days before our holiday and as the weather was nice it would have been nice to sit around the pool. Apparently it doesn't open until Easter which would have been nice to have known at the time of our booking co we could have made a choice as to whether to stay there .

Can't think of anything!
What an amazing location, steps away from the beautiful beach, right in town and yet somehow still peaceful! We took advantage of the private parking behind the hotel which was good value. Our room had a cute little terrace with a couple of chairs and a table to sit out and have an aperitivo. The bathroom was small, but the shower was very good and that really does make a difference! Loved the roof bar looking out over the beach and their cocktails were legendary! Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of variety, the staff kept a close eye on everything and kept everything topped up. When they saw the eggs were looking a bit 'tired', they offered to make me more. In summer, there's a pool on one of the rooftops, unfortunately closed when we were there! It was lovely to have a fridge in the room for our bits and pieces and a kettle for our tea!

Great location and very friendly staff. Very good value for your money. We stayed there during off season so it was not as noisy next to the main road at night time. Breakfast was amazing!

Nothing, it was all we needed.
Location is spot on, in the heart of the place. Short walk to local attractions. Very friendly and informative staff. Breakfast was excellent. Room comfortable, had air con and fridge, was very spacious also. Thank you for making my birthday extra special 🙏

Great location to stay in, right in the centre of Carvoeiro with the beach, shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Staff were friendly and breakfast had a good choice. Room was comfortable and clean

Wasnt very disable friendly Also skybar doesnt do food up there, such a shame. We had to buy a packet of crisps-do think with the prices u pay, u could offer a little pot of crisps or nuts with your drinks

The lift was a bit slow ..🤣… all good
Location , parking 10 euro per day just behind hotel , well worth it .breakfast was good and so were the breakfast staff in particular, always happy always cleaning up
