Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was really nothing not to like, we had a fantastic time and will be back
Our fist visit to San Miguel in the Azores. The property was outstanding with lovely views from the balcony overlooking the sea and the cliffs. The Hostess met us to hand over the keys and walked us around the rooms. She had left so much food as a welcome pack and even went the extra mile to provide gluten free bread and home made jam for me. There is a dedicated parking space, the village was so safe and the people friendly which was the case for the whole island which is so easy to drive around, with excellent roads. Food was amazing in the local cafes and restaurants and the weather was lovely every day. We will be back next year.

Italywe loved everything. the warmth of welcoming even at 1:30 am, the location, the village, the enthousiasm of the owner for his hometown, the fridge with more than “something” for breakfast… the house is equipped with just EVERYTHING. For us was “10” after one hour from the arrival, it was even more after 3 days of stay.

United States of AmericaWe didn't really dislike anything, but I would mention that there is only one restaurant within walking distance. Although there are grocery stores and snack shacks close by, you would have to drive to another town (not far by any means) to get a sit down restaurant. This did not affect us at all, but may be a consideration if you expect more.
This property was perfect for us. The large balcony gave beautiful views of the sea and the trail along the coastline which was an amazing hike. The kitchen was well equipped and the host provided a nice welcome gift: wine, meats, cheese, breads, juice, milk, fruit, homemade jam, and coffee. The bathroom was a nice size and the bedroom too. The bed was very comfortable and the a/c worked well. The place was very clean and had a great location at the edge of Maia. It is a quiet town with very friendly people. It is a great location for hiking and travel to other parts of the island: Furnas and Ribeira Grande were only 20-25 minutes. Plan to visit the Gorrean tea plantation too. It is super close and free. We had our own parking space that was well situated off the road. The picture is from the balcony, and there are two pictures of the hike along the coast. The waterfall was a nice find on the trail.

Czech RepublicWe had to go home :-(
I don't know how to start as this stay was our absolute highlight. We were invited to this tiny house with absolute hospitality and when a landlady told us everything about the accommodation, what to expect etc. we were left in awe. She filled a house with a lot of local products and food at our disposal which we did not expect - fruits, cheese, ham, wine, local bread, cereals, milk, coffee, tea and many others :-D The kitchen was fully equipped. There are like 3 trails starting right next to the house which we did not have time to walk but we will definitely do next time (trail maps provided). Although tiny house, the space inside is so big that it was more than enough for 2 people. Comfortable beds (we slept like babies in the bedroom), big bathroom and kitchen with a sofa. And... the terrace. With a view of the cliff/mountains and the ocean. If we could we would be sitting there all day long. Next to the accommodation there's a beach with black sand and calm waters. Close to that there's also miradouro where we were watching sunsets every day. There's also a washing machine to your disposal if you want.

PortugalSome subdued lighting in the kitchen would be an asset. A couple of hooks for hanging clothes in the bathroom would be useful.
The hostesse's generosity. The apartment is new, fresh, compact and fully equipped. We particularly liked the kitchen with French windows onto the terrace with a view directly over the beach and distant headlands. Plenty of hot water. The bedroom is lovely with subdued lighting.

PolandEverything was great, no disadvantages
The house appears small from the street but inside is very spacious and comfortable. The view from balcony is amazing. We were greeted by nice hostess who explained to us where we can find nearest restaurants, museums, shops and entries to hiking trails. The kitchen was well-equipped and our great hostess also provided us delicious food for the breakfast. Great advantage is that facility has its own parking space and there is no need to park on the street. Another one is the possibility to use washing machine located in the special utility room.
