Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great location and views of the coastline. Delicious breakfast Comfortable beds. Parking was easy at their garage. Staff so helpful and friendly. Will definitely return

The location was very nice. The room had plenty of space and was clean. The balcony was very nice. Parking is a bit of a hike but you can park in front in the roped off hotel parking area in front to drop off your luggage. The parking is in a secured private parking ramp the hotel owns....so the walk was worth it to know my car was secure.

All was good.
The location was super, just a short walk from the beach. Breakfast was excellent, and the dining room - on the top floor - had spectacular views. Moreover, the front desk personnel were unusually friendly and helpful!

Stayed for one night to watch the surfing. Great location right in town. Very comfortable, people in hotel friendly. Parking is free but 10 Min away walking. Would definitely recommend

I would have liked a little more variety in the breakfast that was on offer. However the bread and croissants were excellent. Access to the main entrance does not have a handrail, but the secondary entrance does.
The hotel is well located, being just off the main square with lots of cafes and bars and very close to the beach. The room was very comfortable and clean. We appreciated the little balcony for viewing the square and activities outside. Very comfortable lounge area off reception with coffee available. The drop off parking is very useful.

The breakfast room was nice but it was a bit basic. The eggs weren’t great and it would be nice to have some tomato, cucumber etc to go with the cheese and a greater fruit and yoghurt selection. That said I liked the selection of squeezable Nutella etc
- Good location in the town and easy to walk up to Praia do Norte in 15-20 mins - we lost a jumper on the street on the way to the station and the staff were helpful and went to look for it for us

The beds could be a little more comfortable.

The walk to/from the parking lot was a real workout - several long blocks up a steep hill! We could not figure out how to turn on the lights over the beds - none of the multiple switches or combinations turned them on.
We arrived a little early and were able to check in anyway. Staff was super-friendly and helpful. They provided directions and made dinner reservations for us. The room was quite large - suitable for 3 and had a large, bright outdoor patio with nice views, and screens to block the light and heat. Everything was modern, comfortable, and clean and the tv, wifi, bathroom all worked very well. Having a parking space available in Nazare was a real draw. The location was amazing - just a block to the beach and right along the main drag. Breakfast upstairs had an incredible view and had everything you could want - delicious. The common areas by reception were gorgeous and comfortable for sitting. The sign in the elevator (in English) describing the 100 foot waves was very informative!
