Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyMy recent stay at this Istanbul hotel surpassed all expectations for a mid-range accommodation in Turkey. The service was impeccable, with the check-in desk open for late arrivals and the rooms equipped with all necessities, from slippers to toiletries. The breakfast was a step above the typical Turkish fare, featuring fresh pastries and a whole honeycomb. Upon check-out, the staff surprised me with a small branded gift—a sweet touch that ensured I'll be returning to this exceptional hotel again:) Highly recommended for stay in the city center of Istanbul.

AustraliaThe shower head was broken, not able to be secured. The walls are also quite thin so you can hear the snoring next door.
The biggest highlight was the staff. The gentlemen at the front desk were always so friendly, kind and helpful. My biggest thanks and gratitude to each of them.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. In fact this was the biggest plus of the hotel, so if I had to rate the hotel based on the staff I would give them a 10+. Located quite close to Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace is another plus. Great price based on the location too.

RomaniaThere were no issues for us.
The hotel is located in the heart of the historic center, many sightseeing places are in walking distance. It’s a lively neighborhood but far from the traffic, so no car sounds (there’s only a tramway nearby). The hotel is cozy inside, breakfasts are nice, staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was standard Turkish breakfast but plenty of it. Staff always welcomed us whenever we returned from our outings. Very helpful reception staff day and night. Hotel itself was in an area I like, not far from main attractions. The staff went above and beyond for us when we left our baklava at a shop , they went to get it after we had left and allowed me to arrange collection of it by family. Very trustworthy staff. Cleanliness is top notch. Can’t hear the tram much at night which was good. Connecting family rooms were really good, enough space for family of 4.

RomaniaOur room was at the 4th floor and the elevator is super small (barely fitting 2 people without suitcases). We always took the stairs and this was not a problem for us.
We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is located centrally, walking distance to Basilica Cisterna, Blue Mosque or even Grand Bazaar. The room was cosy, but perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, mostly with Turkish items. There is a nearby mosque from which you could hear the prayer calls. Staff was helpful and even surprised us with a delicious cake for my husband’s birthday. Upon checkout they offered a small Istanbul souvenir as well.

United KingdomRooms were not soundproofed and thus we could hear other hotel guests coughing or having conversations. Whilst this wasn't too bad for us, it may affect others' decisions regarding this hotel. This is also something to consider if you choose to book a room with a balcony, as there are trams on the main road that go past quite frequently.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights. Immediately upon arriving, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. After checking in, they also let us know that we could book activities (boat ride, tours etc.) through the front desk - which we ended up doing. We hadn't booked some activities prior to arriving as they were vastly more expensive online. However if you book through the front desk you are often provided a much better rate, including transportation to/from said activity. Bear in mind that when booking activities this way, you are given the option to pay in either Euros or Turkish Liras. The hotel also has a money exchange counter which was super helpful, providing very good (but not the best) rates. Both the room and bathroom were really clean, with bottles of water provided as standard. Breakfast was provided and slightly varied every day. On our final night, we were also provided with complimentary plate of fruit. The hotel is situated in the perfect location (for us at least) as we were one minute away form a tram stop and had various markets and numerous cafes/restaurants within a minute's walk. It is also located within walking distance to Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi palace.

SpainFantastic location, a few minutes away from Sultanahmet Square. The room was small but confortable, nice bed, everything was clean. It was quiet, we could hear the rumbling of passing trams during the day but it did not bother us at night. Excellent breakfast, with different options each day. All staff members were polite and helpful. We forgot a pair of sunglasses after checking out and they texted me when they found them. We arranged private transfer to Istambul Airport, and the service was great (although expensive). Would love to go back next time.
