Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandRooms need renovating, which they seem to be doing. Our room smelled of humidity and mould and indeed the ceiling had big patches of humidity. Wifi was very bad, we had to work a few days and that was a big problem for us. Eletrical outlets did not work or worked on and off in our room, tv not existent (just local). Cleaning ladies were very nice and they did ordinate beds when possible, but the sheets were not changed in 9 days and the floor was not cleaned - but they did supply fresh towels and again, cleaning staff was nice. Breakfast was really good, but there were few options for people who prefer more continental options.
Location and the price for the location. It is in the heart of the old city, on the main road, yet calm and quiet. Beds were quite comfortable and bathroom seemed new and in good shape. Staff was kind and accomodating. Breakfast area is really nice as it is on the rooftop and the offer is not bad at all. Great place for a short stay. Despite all negatives, would return as it seems they are rennovating the rooms.

Everything was fine, but for my surprise some of the photos that they show on booking are not part of the hotel, the ones that look like a beautiful restaurant it’s actually the restaurant next door completely different building, so I don’t know why they show them as part of the hotel, not even the breakfast was there.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaBreakfast is nothing special. It is served on a nice, closed terrace, but it was cold, so many guests were sitting in jackets.
A pleasant, beautiful small hotel in an excellent location near the tram line, the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The hotel is nicely decorated, although it is older, the rooms are small, but warm, cleaned daily, towels are changed. Furniture is a bit old, but it wasnt problem for us. The staff is friendly. We would come back here again.

United KingdomThe windows are not soundproofed and you could hear the tram anytime it passed in front of the hotel so it would wake us early in the morning. It’s close to Hagia Sophia so the bells were also waking us. We had one room that could not sleep in one night at 2am because some people were on a balcony smoking and making noise just under their room. We were a big group, 9 rooms, and in one of the nights we celebrated 2 birthdays with some champagne and some turkish delight, we asked to go in the breakfast area, but it was not allowed, so ok we went in one of our big rooms. We didn’t have any music, we were only talking and laughing and at not even 10PM (at 10:30PM we were all in our rooms anyway to sleep) someone from the stuff told us at first they had 6 complaints about our noise, which it was sure a lie because at the end of his speech they were only 3 complaints, probably they were none considering how many rooms we had booked in the hotel and that it is a small hotel. And their attitude about this was not at all nice/welcoming.
The location was great, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was tasty.
