Absolutely everything. The staff is the kindest people and were so lovely to us and our children. The beach area was private and huge. The pool was refreshing and the loungers were so comfortable! The food in the restaurant was phenomenal - I’ve never had such fresh, variable buffet food. The coffee is delicious. The breakfast had everything you could want. The location is spot on! On the best part of the nicest beach in Zanzibar! Kids club was so fun for my eldest with baking and making pizzas as part of the activities. Honestly, we aren’t usually resort people as they usually feel big and impersonal but this place felt like home! Thank you to all the Gold team!! We’ll miss this place

The beach chairs are very far from the ocean. The hotel provides plastic water bottles, and really needs to start using glass bottles or provide reusable water bottles (like metal ones) to the room with water filling stations throughout the hotel, to be more eco-friendly.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming and lovely with the kids. We loved the kids club, though small and fully outdoors, it offered nice activities for the kids including evening movie nights. The food selection was great. The beach is by far the most beautiful of Zanzibar, with stunning blue, deep, waters, and no sea urchins. The rooms were pretty and well appointed.

This place is like a paradise. The service attitude and the team spirit of the hotel staff is extraordinary. They read our wishes from our lips. We travel a lot. But this was by far the best 5-Star-Hotel we ever visited. The rooms, the beach, the food, the facilities, the music in the evening: All is very high standard and exclusive.

There was a great variety of food for all tastes at the Kilimanjaro restaurant which was even changing every day! However, not all food is covered (especially salads and fruits in the separate room, but also bread etc.), so it is subject to flies flying around and even crows which was not pleasant and might have led to some stomach issues my husband had. This is something which could definitely be improved.

Great hotel, very spacious and green with high quality facilities and nice decoration. Excellent staff, always very friendly, smiling, ready to help and make our stay unforgettable! They were very accommodating to our requests and they even upgraded us which was a very nice surprise! Our room had a great view, the pool has sea water and it’s always pleasant to swim or lay on the sun beds, the beach is considered one of the best in Zanzibar. The sunbeds have been placed further from the sea so you have the sense of privacy and local sellers do not bother you. Amazing variety of food and nice entertainment shows during the dinner. We would definitely recommend it! :)

Music group is not the best ^^ Cocktail at the bar are very low in alcohol. We had to ask for strong one. Appart from that everything is amazing. Taxi is 125$ if you book by the hotel. 65$ at the airport. 35-50$ on booking.com or via local.

Best beach on the island. No need to go further for the starfish they are just here. All inclusive, food is amazing. Staff is great. Lots of shop on the beach for souvenir and painting. Much cheaper than in Arusha. Perfect for our honeymoon.

Villa was a bit dirty when we arrived but was quickly resolved. Also our beach view was blocked by tables which isn’t what you expect when you pay for the beach villa. This was also resolved and compensated for.

We liked the facilities, the hotel view overall and the food was great. Also highly rated being so close to the beach. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating, always ready to help.

Everything, the service, the staff but most of all the food was exceptional. The depth, breadth, quality and sheer variety and extent of the food was extraordinary - we loved the meals particularly the gala night. A perfect hotel.

Everything was gorgeous. Maybe a little overpriced & alcoholic drink options on all inclusive were only okay.

Fantastic hotel. We booked the all inclusive for our honeymoon & it was a great start to our hotel. Food was exceptional and buffet for each meal changed every day. Located on gorgeous beach. Pool & spa were lovely and we got a discount from spa & free à la carte dinner for our honeymoon.

There is a magic line on the beach that once you cross it you are deluged by hustlers selling tours and trinkets. They are very respectful when told no, but it is still a nuisance when you just want to go for a walk on the beach or swim in the ocean rather than the pool.

The food was excellent, the service was the same, the beach was gorgeous, the weather was perfect. The resort is located at the tip of Zanzibar on the white sand beaches. There are less people here and the beach huts are spaciously apart - the neighboring resorts are crowded in comparison. The property is beautiful and the entertainment is good fun. We came here for peace and quiet after a long safari and time in Stonetown and the Zanzibar Gold delivered!

Food selection should be more various. Staff should be more friendly ( Shout out To the Peter the great , was the only one that made us feel comfortable) For a 5 star hotel I would expect more in terms of facilites and confort.

The internet in the room was not very good and unfortunately despite informing staff on 2 occasions nothing was done about it. It did however work in the communal areas like restaurant, poolside etc.

We stayed at Gold Zanzibar for 3 nights. It is a beautiful resort in an amazing location right on Kendwa beach. The food was incredible and the buffets had so many options. The pool was nice and there was also a spa that had a great deal on some of their treatments. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely, with beautiful balcony views.

There is nothing to complain about and difficult to find anything you don’t like.

This is a fantastic place to stay at if you want to celebrate a anniversary. Fantastic Villas with a perfect beach you just can dream of, the best at Zanzibar, and it is real. Very kind, amazing and helpful personal, top service and fantastic good food. The Chefs and restaurants are world class and could easily have a Michelin star. You really feel that you are taking care of. They make sure you get the best relaxing stay and experience. Even the Manager is showing up and make sure you have the BEST stay. You just don’t want to leave… We will absolute come back.

The Italian hotel next door is very noisy and a few guests of the Gold on the beach bring their own speakers and listen to loud music without considering the other guests. But it's not the fault of the Hotel Gold.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are huge and it feels like home. Beautifully located on the beach and what makes this hotel so special is the presence of the manager and the amazing staff! We have rarely felt as comfortable as we do here and we have never experienced such an attentive and present manager and we have stayed in many luxury hotels. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and eager. Our flight was postponed to very late, the Manager Tuan Thasleem Juhara knew that we had to do our checkout the next day and offered us a free late checkout including dinner! We were able to stay in our room until late, enjoy our last day to the fullest at the beach, watch the last sunset, have a shower in our room and enjoyed our last dinner with no rush and then checed out. Simply fantastic and so generous! From the staff at the reception, in the restaurant, bars, gardeners, room cleaners to the manager they are all great and go the extramile! Thank you all for doing such a great job and making us fall in love with you! You really miss these people when you leave this place! Hakuna Matata!

Perhaps a little more concrete architecture on display than other more natural resorts but this was presented white washed, clean and the resort extremely generously proportioned for 76 rooms.

perfect location to relax on the premises but also seek out a little more action nearby. The staff at the kids club are very engaging and will play along with the kids. Excellent quality buffet and the standard for inclusive dining is very high.
