Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

There were some issues re: the cleanliness of the apartment. During our 6 day stay, the cleaner came once (by special request) and no information was provided for how to dispose of trash in the apartment etc. The apartment is tastefully furnished, but is lacking basic equipment (no mugs, glasses, no handtowel in the bathroom). We ended up purchasing several kitchen items for the apartment and left them behind so hopefully others will enjoy! The other notable issue was power outages, which happened several times during our stay. The apartment block had no generator, so strongly recommend packing torches / candles. We did not realise that this would be a recurrent issue, and since we were on a work trip access to reliable to electricity / internet was important.
The apartment (a ground floor apartment) was spacious and good value for money; it was generally a comfortable set up for 2 of us on a work trip, with slightly spotty internet. We had some notable issues with the cleanliness of the apartment in the first couple of days, but Anthony responded quickly and the situation was remedied. The location is ok - there is not much to walk to from the apartment block itself, but we took taxis into town easily for work meetings, coffee etc. The apartment block felt secure and well attended. There are no mosquito nets above the beds, though insect repellent plugs are used in the bedrooms. We saw few mosquitos in the house, and we used our own nets / insect repellents to be sure.

There are few tea cups and plates in the kitchen specially when you are more than two people during meals
The location of the house was excellent and good management. John was very responsive.

The host, Truth is amazing and extremely hospitable- able to ask him anything and always sorted in a timely manner. Great and friendly security 24 hours. The apartment is cleaned regularly and fully furnished with all necessities included in each apartment and is also in a great location to get around in.

Just need to get some more kitchen utensils.
Very nice apartment with all the things that you need, bonus being the washing machine. There’s someone that comes to clean it regularly which was good. A lot of shops including supermarkets & KFC close by walking distance. The host Truth was very accommodating.

Location was just excellent, away from the bustle of the city but still close enough. Having mosquito repellent in the room was a nice touch and the kitchen was well supplied with everything you could need in a kitchen. Internet worked pretty well and the smart TV allowed for variety of entertainment options.

It would be great to do some work on the flooring in the bathroom to reduce the need to keep wiping floor at intervals while using the shower.

Polo Apartment is expertly set up with an extra touch,modern furniture and decor to add to guests’ comfort and ambience.I enjoyed my stay with extra care and quick response to any queries.Fast Wi-Fi, parking space,good security,cleanliness makes this a very sought for peaceful place. The place is close to the city centre which gives you great access to big shops,restaurants,cinemas,bars,some historical sites like kasubi tombs and many more. This place place is worth the money and I will definitely come back.
