Ella, who worked the desk, helped me change the date of our reservation and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. Loved the retro vibe of the place (hence the name!). They even had a game room and laundry facilities and a nice little courtyard with comfy patio furniture for enjoying the nice weather. The breakfast was great and, again, cool retro booths and serving pieces.

Would have liked the breakfast to have been available a bit earlier. As a morning person I like to get up and eat and get going.

The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the decor was funky retro. We loved the room, and the vibe was fun in throughout the motel property. We really appreciated having a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in the room. The Continental breakfast was also appreciated.

    Loved everything!

We stayed here on our way to New Mexico and loved everything about it, so we decided to return home the same route and stay here again. Stayed in a different fun room this time. I love the retro theme!

Nothing, it is a very fun retro motel, just what I love!

The rooms are fun, themed after years during the 50s and 60s. Very comfortable, clean, and roomy. The breakfast was okay, just continental with a few more choices than usual.

Can't think of anything we didn't like.

We love the retro theme of the motel. It is so cute and comfortable. Each room is numbered a year starting with 1950 and then the room has been decorated with pictures of important events or people from that year. The first time we stayed in room 1952 with pictures of a boxer (I can't remember his name). This time we stayed in room 1986 with pictures from Top Gun. We travel through Cortez often and this is now where we stay each time. The property has lawns with chairs, tables, swings, a big chess board, a ping pong table, an outside grill, etc. It makes you want to be outside as much as possible.

Couldn’t get wifi in the room.

The decor is very old fashioned and needs updating😉 Joking besides, the retro fixtures and fittings make this a really fun place to stay; nostalgic even for those who remember it all first time around. Retro for sure, but everything is clean and tidy and works perfectly, with the exception, ironically, of the wifi! All in all though, a gem of a find, and highly recommended.

Spacious comfortable room with good quality fittings and a very comfortable bed. Clean bright decor, attention to detail and a touch of character showing that the owners care. Even the included Continental Breakfast was above average in quality and quantity, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The young woman that checked us in when we arrived in the evening was a bit rude and condescending. After a long day of travel, we did not feel very welcome.

The room was very clean and decorated well. The bathroom was large with a good shower. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The breakfast had several options, and while we were not traveling with children, it seems like they had plenty of kid friendly breakfast options. The lady working the morning shift was pleasant and friendly and was taking great care of the breakfast area. Lots of outdoor seating options.

    The breakfast selection was small.

LOVED the whole atmosphere! The details in the lobby were so fun! My kids loved everything. Loved the bright colors and the old fashioned key rings. They little guest house was a good touch too! Would totally stay here again! The location was great and we ate at the Loungin Lizard in town. SO yummy!

Nothing really. The physical layout is set back from main road giving some quiet, but requires learning to navigate your way around. No problem.

Mid-century motel with parking outside each room. They even created lines between each space so doors could be opened without hitting car next to you. Old style outdoor chairs in front give it a definite “retro” feel. Inside is very spacious both depth and width. Very comfortable bed, good shower head and counter space. The theme of the rooms are designed around their number (I was in 1977 with Bee Gee and John Travolta disco pictures). They also use old fashioned room keys. Very creative, yet subtle and tasteful.
