To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaOverall rating heavily weighed by not enough hot water and very low water pressure, not enough for a quick shower for each of two occupants. Mentioned this at check out. And the sound bleeding through walls and shared (locked) doors was noticeable albeit not loud enough to be an issue.
The facility is located along a Hotel Circle, a busy street of, as expected hotels, so it is very convenient if your visit takes you to north part of SD and/or Mission Valley area. The room was remodeled - floors, wall paint, and furniture. The property is wall maintained - parking area is clean, and stairwells in good condition, and overall building aesthetics are good. The beds were comfortable enough for a value centric rental. All in all, it'd describe the experience of our stay as a significant upgrade to an entry level, low cost motel). At the price point and reservation booked well in advance, it is definitely worth the cost and would return.

United States of AmericaThere was a lot of noise you can hear everything, you can hear cars passing by, you can hear ppl walking upstairs we were in the first floor n we were able to hear ppl walking n making noise all night. It’s hard to rest if you really need to rest let’s just say that. Also the pool is really small.

United States of AmericaThe room was right next to a busy freeway. The door was off center a bit, which let in A LOT of noise. The toilet was low level (difficult to flush completely). The fridge wasn't secured so it wobbled and stuck every time we tried to open it.
The room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfy and a good size. The decor and vibe were chill. Good value for the price. The pool and hot tub were a big hit with the kiddos. The staff helped with requests easily.
