Very very noisy rooms. We specifically requested a room not on the ground floor and not adjacent to the restaurant which is exactly what they gave us despite agreeing in advance not to. Impossible to sleep in the room due to noise. No compensation/compromise provided. No air conditioning. Front desk staff generally rude and unwelcoming. Zero hotel facilities. Lost original restaurant reservation. Impossible to recommend anyone to stay here.

The room furnishings are dated and cheap looking. It’s as if they furnished from Goodwill. At over $800 a night I expected better. Bed was comfy. Thats about it.

Breakfast suppose to be included. I turned in my breakfast request slip directly to the front desk attendant the day before. Requested prompt delivery at 7:30 am as I had to be somewhere. Breakfast never showed up. They told me they never received my order. No offer to make up for it. No apology.

Our room was not what was shown on the photos on booking.com at all. Breakfast was a joke. In general we like small classic stylish hotels but this one is in very bade shape.

- Valet service never came when I arrived and when I left the hotel to take care of my suitcases for me and my wife. - The breakfast is really too small. - For a Relais & Chateaux the welcoming at the reception really need to improve, it's not professional.

- The location in Downton - The rooms are cosy - The service at the bar and restaurant was very nice.

Location unbeatable, right by all the restaurants and close to the beach. Great food, breakfast included and really high quality. The courtyard is lovely. All the little refreshments were of high quality- I loved the Nespresso, flat and sparkling water, carmels and snacks in the room. Service was very good, valet parking included

Super noisy, if you come here for a relaxing time you can forget about it, impossible to sleep, you can hear everything from people talking, stepping, running, the courtyard… paying that much money and not sleep !? The room are very rustic. There is not much of a room service except breakfast. We were not able to order a drink at the bar or from our room. Something weird and uncomfortable is when you go back to your room you have to walk through table where people are having a Michelin star dining experience, all dressed up so coming back from the beach we felt that we were disturbing people by going back to our room. The temperature control is inexistant if you are hot you will stay hot! I’m conclusion for the half price you can find way better hotels! We won’t come back

The property is close to everything In Carmel, few minutes from the beach, restaurants, Main Street. The room is spacious, nice bathroom. Free valet service.

Short staffed, small cluttered room up a narrow flight of stairs, didn’t get maid service one day with breakfast tray still on our bed in the evening, no bellman to help bring bags down those stairs when checking out, bellman was bartender and valet. Slow to get a drink in bar. Staff was very nice just spread too thin. Hotel is charming looking but not a 5 star property because of lack of staff and it needs remodeling and updating. We’ve wanted to stay here for years and were so disappointed.

Old world charm & very comfortable accommodations made this a lovely birthday getaway. The staff was courteous & prompt for all our needs. The breakfast included was tasty & delicious cookies brought each nite a nice touch. We loved being able to walk out the hotel to explore Carmel. We will definitely look forward to a return visit!
