Great location on North Shore, the studio is on the beach and close to all the famous surfing beaches such as Banzai Pipeline. Very close to the property, there are great food trucks. We also enjoyed the amazing Poke bar at Foodland supermarket, also very close to the property.

Perfect way to feel the unique atmosphere of the North Shore. Staff was amazingly helpful and friendly (we wonder if someone has come over for the lost key we found on the beach ;) )

The rooms could use a bit of TLC and a deeper clean for sure. Based on other reviews we knew this going in and likely the owners are well aware. (Possibly this filters out high maintenance customers?) If you don’t mind that sort of thing, then this place is heaven on earth.

Unbeatable location; very peaceful and friendly staff. Loved our private room which looks right over the beach with a deck and small kitchen. Three different beaches, stores and restaurants just steps away.

    Shower needs an upgrade.

Straight across from the beach, foodland on the next corner, bathroom/ kitchen were far from new but did the job and could easily cook meals with the provided utensils. Beds/ lounge pretty comfortable! Never had an issue finding a car park spot on site. Prime spot, cool to be around other travellers, super friendly easy-going staff. Would definitely stay there again.

Location, comfortable clean beds, free parking, had everything we needed, Foodland close by was great. Not fancy, but we ate well, slept well, enjoyed Sharks Cove snorkeling and swam around fish/turtles (walking distance), saw best sunsets and enjoyed local hospitality! Owners/staff very friendly, bring some Tim Hortons coffee if visiting from Canada for the staff.

Don't expect the Ritz. It's hard in the tropics, but there were a lot of bugs, mostly roaches in the kitchen and bathroom. The sheets on the bed did not fit and kept coming off. The dishes were not very clean. Generally a bit run down but worth it for the location and seclusion.

We could literally could see the waves from our balcony. Incredible beach location. Sunset views steps away. We were in the "Beach House". Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful with tips on things to see. Felt very homey.

Plantation village house 1 could use some better upkeep and maintenance. The lamp in our room was broken so we fixed it. Bed wasn’t comfortable and the kitchen is very sparse with no microwave and a broken toaster.

I was irked that they couldn't accommodate my request for a lower bunk, even though I made the request a month in advance with follow-up. They told me at check-in that they don't really do requests. I feel that is lame.

Location is amazing. A 2 minute walk to the beach, and 30 minute walk to the main surfer spots. It is a great stay if you plan to play all day and party in the evening. There really isn't a quiet time in the evening, but overall, I found all of the guests friendly and accommodating. Some of the cabins are better than the others, being more recently remodeled with larger porches to hang out (cabin 7 is the nicest). A 5 minute walk to the Foodland grocery store for Poke and beer. Keeping a no shoes/ sandals policy for inside the cabin really helps with overall cleanliness and no sand. There is a cash discount if you extend your stay. The staff cleans the cabin every morning. There is Wi-Fi, but it really only works at the group lounge

Despite seeing warnings, I didn't realize how warm it would be at night. I had been travelling with a laptop and some other gear so I didn't leave the bedroom window open during the day when I wasn't around to let the breeze circulate like I should have. The room had a fan (no AC) but I still found myself sleeping on top of the bed sheets. I don't hold that against the Hostel at all though because I had seen it in other reviews prior to booking. Just know that going in and prepare appropriately.

If you are in the north shore to surf, this location is phenomenal. Breaks within walking distance or a short drive, board rentals available on site, classic hostel vibes with people from all over passing through. The lodge I was in had a shared kitchen with a Fridge, stove and necessary equipment to cook with a grocery store less than a block away. Support the local restaurants though, they're delicious. It also had a communal couch/tv area to chill post surf.

Wish there were more than 2 pillows in the private room but it is a hostel so I can’t complain! I’m sure if we asked we could have gotten more. The shower maybe could have been a bit cleaner but it was still good.

Loved the location, the opportunity to rent many outdoor gear such as surf boards/boogie boards etc. Full kitchen amenities and awesome staff! The private room had everything you need.

The beds sadly are horrible. I had to switch my bed with another because of the springs pushing on my back. The other mattress felt more cushy until I slept on it and the springs made it really hard to sleep. I wish they would buy non spring beds or something but you dont go to Hawai’i to sleep. Though getting a good night sleep is ideal if you’re hiking in the morning.

Its a gorgeous property so close to my most favorite place in the world, Waimea Bay
