To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaNot enough towels in the bathroom. Miscommunication with arrival time and rooms weren’t ready in advance. Poor customer service from Brittany, Tammy and Steve re: room readiness. Brittany ran the card on file prior without confirming with me because the card I reserved room With wasn’t the card I was using upon check in.
Continental breakfast was good. Staff in the food area was helpful and attentive to guest needs. Pet friendly hotel allowed us to vacation with our fur babies.

United States of AmericaAfter multiple complaints about the refrigerator not working, a maintenance person came to my room, turned on the refrigerator, but never noticed it wasn't unplugged. I had to toss out our food. My husband finally realized the refrigerator wasn't plugged in, and he plugged it in. The front desk night clerk offered my husband and I a new room. However, after driving 12 hours to the hotel to attend a family members funeral, we were exhausted and did not want to repack and lug our belongings to another room.
Wonderful greeting from staff. Especially the breakfast preparers and front desk staff. Enjoyed seeing improvements in the bed area of the room. Would love to see updated bathroom ceiling tile (the tile needed replacing, as it did not compliment the updated bed area side).

United States of AmericaThere was only 1 person available during check in at 3:00 pm. The room was not very clean. Even though it was pet friendly, they neglected to tell you there was a non refundable charge!! The room keys, both of them, rarely worked the outside doors. Even new ones.
It was conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. It was a few miles away from the beach. It had a nice size pool and it was clean with plenty of seating. The property is pet friendly. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
