To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaI stayed in mid April and my room was very warm! I arrived late in the evening so I figured I'd wait til the morning to ask how to get the a/c to turn on or change rooms. I mentioned it to my coworker who stayed in another room that my a/c didn't work and he said he asked and the a/c for all of the rooms was off until it got warmer outside. It was 76 degrees outside when we arrived around 9pm.. My room was hot and smelled like stale cigarettes. The vent in the bathroom must be connected to all of the rooms above and below. I heard phone calls, speakerphone, a baby crying, a couple arguing and it smelled of cannabis smoke every so often. Speaking of cannabis smoke, the elevators and the hallways often smelled of cannabis smoke during the 4 days I stayed there. There also seemed to be a lot of activity in the lobby at all times. Maybe people waiting for a shuttle bus, or waiting to talk with the front desk, I'm not sure. Every time we went through the lobby, there were 5 to more than 10 people we had to weave our way through to get between the elevators and the side door. I imagine they were all there to complain about what appears to be broken a/c units. I apologized to my coworker and told him had I known the a/c units weren't working, we would have stayed at another hotel in the area. I've never heard of such a policy, but if it should definitely be reconsidered. Sometimes an air conditioner unit isn't just for cooling but also for freshening the air. Opening the window wasn't nearly enough to do so.
The location was very convenient to my client's location across the park. The bed was comfortable. The bath was good.

United States of AmericaThe smell of weed and cigarettes upon entry which still was present into the morning. We did not sleep well at all. The room and bathroom were very clean, but the smell made it feel as not. Had I known I paid for a smoking room I would have made sure I purchased a nonsmoking room, not realizing smoking indoors was still a thing. We drove from the shore to attend my Uncle Roger’s birthday. He is the superintendent of Newark.
We did not go to the breakfast.

United States of AmericaThe parking lot was a tight squeeze, not sure where everyone else parked. There was limited spots. The room was HOT, we tried to adjust the temp plenty of times and it wouldn’t get cooler. Another guest in the elevator said her room was hot too. I thought there would be a microwave and more amenities. They had a hidden fridge.
Close to our event, they called us a taxi that only costs us $8 for being hotel guests

United States of AmericaThe 1st time I asked for extra blankets nobody came . The second time I asked for 2 blankets the housekeeper gave me one and then told me I should have a blanket in my room and left. If I asked for two extra blankets I should be able to get them.

Luckily we could open the window, but without a fan to move the air around it stayed Smokey our entire stay. It’s a shame because we had a very pleasant experience and everything was so clean, but the smoke smell really turned us off.
The property was clean and in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful.

United States of AmericaThe restaurant closed a half hour early and there was no breakfast. Traveled to nj from Virginia and online the restaurant is open til 10 and I arrived about 925. After finding parking we got to the room at 935. Called and they were closing, unfortunately we had to order from checkers and it was cold. Couldn’t heat the food due to no microwave. In the morning we couldn’t have breakfast which was disappointing because the menus in the rooms say delivered to your room.

The housekeeper was nice and came quickly to change the pillows and clean the nightstands for us.

United States of AmericaI have been staying there on and off for a year or so. Their HVAC system has its challenges: their room thermostats are out of date and don't have any temperature settings. It is either on or off and thankfully you are able to open the window to compensate. Recently their wifi system isn't very Mac friendly (fortunately had my business windows machine with me).
