Very dog welcoming and good set up for dog walking and beach access from ground floor patio. We stayed in the smaller studio on the ground floor. Beach views from upper units. Very clean and no doggy odors. No noise from indoor pool across from our unit, even with kids in the pool. Appreciated the designated "adult hour" in pool. Close to restaurants. Lovely staff.

We tried to access the beach from the hotel via labeled trail to beach and it was not accessible. There was extreme mud, big pools of water to big to leap over. I was under the impression that the beach was easily accessible and it wasn’t. So we ended up going to a drive and entering via road to beach. I read this isn’t Canterbury’s responsibility, but the city of ocean shores to take care of this, I just felt the easy beach access was not easy.

The Canterbury Inn is a beautiful peppery and well taken care of. There are 45 individual units that are owned by 43 different that are rented out. Each room is decorated slightly differently based on the owners added touch. We had a bottom room and dog friendly (even though we didn’t bring our dog) BUT it is nice to know for longer stays in the future. Also, having a family it was so amazing to have a full functioning kitchen. The indoor pool was a must for our little ones, it was clean and everyone who was in the pool was respectful! The green grass behind the hotel was an awesome place to walk/run, play (we brought bubbles) and just enjoy the fresh air!! Thank you for an amazing quick stay.

Everything was great and the garden view was peaceful and attractive. Beach access is half a mile away but it's easy to cycle or walk there.

Everything was great - the staff, the unit, the bed and the location. The beach is amazing and we truly enjoyed cycling along the beach despite the rainy weather. The studio was well equipped for cooking.

You can tell the a lot of work and care has gone into this older property to bring it new life. Everything was clean and in working order, and I kinda chuckled at our Kraken themed pet friendly studio, very unique!

There was not a thing to dislike!!

EVERYTHING! This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at, with a surprisingly affordable price! The room was more like a mini condo. In addition to the bedroom with 2 very comfortable Queen beds, nice dresser, and a t.v., nice sized bathroom. It also had a full kitchen with all standard appliances, including pots and pans, a good-sized living room with a very comfortable sofa bed, 2 winged back chairs, coffee table and end tables, a fireplace and a full sized balcony! It was so wonderfully decorated as well! VERY CLEAN! The lobby was also very clean and tastefully decorated. There was a second lobby for hotel guests to use that had 2 comfortable winged back chairs, an end table and a HUGE flat screen t.v. In that room there was an office syle water coolers with a choice of hot/cold water. Staff was excellent!! And the hotel had a path to the Beach as well! Found a Pearl on the Beach, and it was this place.

My partner has some problems with a traumatic brain injury sometimes can't control her laughter and she can be rather loud and the lady at the front desk when we were checking out was quite rude even after being told it was a medical condition and could not be helped some disabilities cannot be seen some disabilities cannot be seen
