Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location was absolutely unbeatable. We were avoiding the subway due to how bad it’s become since the pandemic and this location was great for being able to walk to all the major sites we wanted to, with lyfts/ubers for the rest. Felt safe even with our 8 year old girl.

The coffee provided in the room is not good.
Excellent location, few steps away from Times Square. Very polite and helpful staff. Free luggage storage and printing facilities. We arrived earlier than check-in time, but the reception desk provided us access to our room. Clean and comfortable rooms. At check-out the hotel staff arranged us a taxi.

Very limited space to accommodate 2 double beds. I could open only one luggage at a time due to space restrictions. I can understand the space limitations in a city like New York.
The beds were so comfy. Very close to all attractions. Walking distance to Times Square, Rockfeller Centre and Subways. The two ladies at the restaurant were kind and helpful. I forgot their names. They were the best. The hotel had laundry facilities which was very helpful.

Have the kitchen able to prepare the hot breakfast that was on the voucher.
Nice room, very clean, plenty of towels and quite. Comfortable beds and a good shower. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location. The only minor complaint is that we paid extra for breakfast and the 6 days we were there they didn’t have any of the hot items available.

It is older than it looks in pictures, a bit worn out. The real address differs from what indicated in booking, which is the rear of the building. Shower was in a bathtub, not optimal.
Location is perfect, close to subway, plenty of food options and many attractions. The room was spacious.

They were remodeling, front desk didn’t provide WIFI at check-in nor non-sufficient instructions on how the breakfast tickets worked, unsightly view of roof and had lots of trash on it

We stayed at a double room, with 2 full beds. It does fit 4 people, as advertised by the hotel; however, the beds are small, and it can start a tug-of-war game to see who gets the most bedsheets. It did fit our needs for the weekend.
The location is excellent. There are multiple subway stations nearby, many restaurant and cafe options, and it is within a 10 minute walk to many attractions, including the Empire State, Times Square, and across the New York Public Library. The rooms are spacious and clean, and room service is great.

Despite booking a king bedroom, I was allocated a twin room upon arrival, which was extremely disappointing. Furthermore, I was informed that there were no available king rooms despite it being only 4 PM. This situation was exacerbated by the fact that the body wash container was empty, leaving me no choice but to use soap for showering. Additionally, I was taken aback when I was informed that booking through Booking.com instead of the hotel's official website was a factor in the room allocation. This raised questions about the benefits of using Booking.com for future reservations. As someone who values budget-friendly options for business trips, I chose Booking.com to make a cost-effective reservation using company funds. It is disheartening to encounter such issues, especially when it concerns the expenditure of company funds. I hope that my experience was an isolated incident and not reflective of Courtyard hotel's official stance. It's important for establishments to understand that some guests may prefer to stay within budget constraints while still enjoying the amenities of their preferred hotel chain. I hope that Courtyard hotel takes steps to address these issues to ensure a more pleasant experience for future guests. I missed the Courtyard Hotel's own survey period, so I am leaving a detailed review here.

The hallways and lobby seemed worn and in need of refreshment. Free breakfast was advertised but simply not available when I went down in the AM. The manager gave me some points instead. I went down to the desk in the middle of the night hoping to buy some antacid tablets for indigestion - but the rack in the lobby was poorly stocked and I went back to my room without.
The room was well appointed and appeared to be recently renovated.
