Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Construction at entrance new sliding doors installed.But this was minor and I understand that it was due to be upgraded. Initially our room overlooked the freeway and staff relocated us to a higher floor on the other side of building.. We were extremely grateful !
We found the staff excellent and went out of there way to please us as we were there 4nights.

No mention of major building renovations in the booking process. Bar and restaurant in an old conference room. If they’d promoted ‘renovation deals’ the inconveniences would have been more palatable.

There is a bit of construction going on, but it was not interfering with the stay at all. There was no parking at the site, but there was parking across the street that was offered by the staff and it was $20 cheaper.
Clean, convenient, efficient and friendly staff, newly renovated and modern. Check out was nice.

On of the female staff (Andrea?) were unfriendly/unhelpful! Also it was under construction which should have been mentioned when booking. The elevator system was a nuisance to many but fine for me. Breakfast wasn’t that great.
The room was big and clean. Bed was very comfy. Decent location.

Just the renovations ongoing during the stay. Wasn’t a concern in our room, though.

There were renovations going on which delayed the check-in/check-out procedures, but it seemed to be handled well. The room was very(!) noisy: traffic from the street was loud and the AC/heating was even louder. If you prefer quiet, you'll need earplugs (not provided by the hotel).
Great location, helpful staff--I could even check in early. The room had a good size and was comfortable.

I like the new technology for getting to your floor. You have to scan your card to get there.

Room key didn't always work but was an easy fix.
Even under some remodeling, it was clean and easy to navigate. Staff was quick and took care of needs. Room was vert comfortable and felt spacious. Easy walking distance to most things downtown.

Staff was great. I am assuming no daily room service because of remodel? The bed was too soft and the pillows to thick. Should offer 2 thickness’s. Despite the remodel taking place , I’d give it a 7 out of 10

Our room wasn't cleaned for two days despite we hung the cleaning sign outside of our door. I had to call the service desk to ask for clean towels and coffee. It was not until the day before we left that our room was finally cleaned, and we were provided bottled water. Otherwise, I liked the hotel.
I am updating my review for more details -- the hotel's location is excellent. It's right in the downtown area of Seattle, close to most tourist attractions, and is very safe to walk at night. The room is also spacious and quiet despite being close to the highway. Even though the hotel is under construction, there is a printer in the lobby area, which was very helpful because I was there to attend a conference. The hotel staff were very friendly.

Under construction, so things you expect to have in a hotel are make-shift… no real bar or restaurant or good place to buy snacks or sundries, but meals were good in the dining area.
The staff were wonderful! Very helpful!
