Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe lady at the front desk treated as if we were homeless begging for a place to stay. We had a reservation, she didn’t even checked our booking number. Zero respect or kindness, and immediately she said that the only solution was overpaying for the night. Needles to say we left the place.
Absolutely nothing. As soon as we got there -without even asking for the reservation number through booking, they told us they didn’t have any room booked for us and if we wanted to stay in the SAME type of room we reserved we had to pay $30 dollars more of the rate shown online.

United States of AmericaFree breakfast was a choice of 2 different granola bars and coffee. There was unidentified but suspicious looking spray marks on the inside of the bathroom slider and the bathroom ceiling. The shower nozzle had one setting and it was pressure washer. The sheets appeared clean but were stained and probably should have been retired. The room itself had obvious repair work from likely years prior that had never been actually finished. Some of the furniture was broken. I get that the hotel is an older hotel and the cost of stay reflects that somewhat but the number of issues was off-putting. In the end, the sheets were clean, the bed was clean, and in the future I personally wouldn't write the hotel off as a place to sleep for the night but I couldn't recommend it to anyone.
The staff was the one highlight. They were obviously doing their best and the hotel industry is often a challenging work environment.

United States of AmericaStill waiting on manager to return my call… I was charged for smoking in a non smoking room however it must have been a mistake because it was certainly a smoking room. It smelled like smoke before my mom ever started smoking. I booked the room for her and made sure to verify it was a smoking room so we didn’t get the rooms mixed up and wrote it on her key card envelope right in front of the front desk staff. There was also a cockroach crawling on the wall in my room. The blankets were dirty. The sheets were stained. The bathroom was not completely clean and the room was in need of repairs and updates.
It was close to my event.

United States of AmericaTerrible stay! Cockroach crawling on wall. Room was dirty. Blankets were dirty. Sheets were stained. Pillows were tiny. Bed was uncomfortable. Mix up at check in and manager supposedly fixed it, but my card was still charged for a $200 fee of smoking in a non-smoking room even though I was told it was a smoking room. I am awaiting the manager to return my call. I have never left a complaint before and typically leave good reviews.

United States of AmericaUpon checking it for the two rooms I booked, I was informed that the cable was out in both rooms because of a recent thunderstorm. Which I understand, things like that are out of our hands, but there was no solution offered for the inconvenience with 4 kids on this stay. no discount was offered, nothing. There is a sign in the room that says if anything is need to just dial 0 to be connected to the front desk, neither phone in either room worked. Their “free” breakfast consisted of Trix cereal bars and nature valley bars. I chose hotels off of their amenities such as cable for free breakfast because we are a large family. When I’m paying $200 a night for two rooms I kind of expect what is advertised. When checking out the next morning, standing at the front desk with my kids, the receptionist was too busy sitting in her boyfriends lap behind the counter that we had to stand there for a few minutes before she even knew we were there. Very disappointed and a waste of my money.
The bed was comfortable.
