Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyBreakfast was far from satisfactory. The juice machines were out of order for two consecutive days and there was little choice of desserts. But the main problem is the size of the breakfast room, considering the number of customers. There was always a long wait to find a table and the distance between the tables and the customers was very small, so, once seated, we almost touched the customers who were still serving themselves.
The room was quite nice, beds were comfortable, the bathroom was fine. There was an acceptable level of noise, considering the Manhattan's area the hotel is located in.

NorwayThe lobby and breakfast area were very small. It was crowded and sometime, you had to wait to find a place to sit and eat breakfast. Also, the breakfast options not particularly healthy.

United States of AmericaMy first room the TV wouldn’t work, sink didn’t drain and the door didn’t lock. They fixed everything but the door locking. After getting back to the room late from MSG I saw the door still didn’t lock so I asked for another room- which they wanted me to wait for maintenance again and it was midnight. When I finally got into the new room the TV didn’t work. The rooms were beautiful but they weren’t functional.
Location was perfect. Short walk to MSG and close to food and anything else we needed.

FinlandBreakfast is chaotic. Too many people, crowded. Everything eaten off and with disposables. Certain items run out before breakfast closes. Elevators worked mysteriously.
Room was clean and bed comfortable. Always a plus when windows open. Free daily water-bottle is an asset for city walkers.

IndonesiaThe hotel seems to be understaff, otherwise shared area could be kept better clean and organized. The front staff have tried their best to provide response but given so many things to attend and so many crowd, it takes longer times for them to respond. The lift smells smoke and damp, could use some air purifier or sth there.
Location is great close to station, center of manhattan and many good food option. It is in the quieter area close to times square and seems safe at night. The hot breakfast also very good, not many option but very good cook and taste. Staff are helpful.

United KingdomCould have done with a blanket or thicker quilt for the bed. Toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, all Dove brand)were provided but there was no shower gel. The breakfast area wasn't really big enough at certain times. We went down about 8.30 one morning and there were no tables available but we were able to take food back to our rooms as all the plates and cutlery were disposable.
Location is brilliant - a very short walk from Penn station and there's a subway station just around the corner from it. The room was very good. Penalty of charging points for your phone. Coffee maker in the room which also just boiled water which was important for me as I love a cup of tea. Selection of food on offer at breakfast was great. Different hot food each day but always something to cater for vegetarians.

BrazilBreakfast very good, complete, and the space, although small, behaves very well. Amazing location, just a few streets away from Time Square. However, we have not received our security deposit so far and it is already more than 1 month since our trip. We've sent several billing emails and so far we haven't received a return.

CanadaUPDATE: After we checked out, we saw that we were charged almost half a full night's stay with no explanation. Even upon contacting the property, Holiday Inn NEVER responded. Thank goodness for the customer service agents at Booking.com who were able to contact the property on our behalf and were able to get a refund for us. This is very disappointing and honestly really made us lose trust in Holiday Inn...before we would have said that we would definitely return, but now we have changed our minds. We could hear some noise pretty easily if people were talking in the hallway, but nothing was heard between rooms. Breakfast tables can be hard to get depending on what time you arrive, so be wary of that!
This Holiday Inn had an amazing location in Chelsea. It was a walkable distance to Chelsea Market and there were subway stops at a short enough distance away as well. The room was clean and very well-lit. The breakfast had a great variety of hot foods and other options like yogourt and cereal. It was nice that there was always one gluten-free option for breakfast as well so that my Celiac wife could eat and enjoy the food. Staff were always very friendly and fast whenever we needed more towels, soap, etc. The bed was comfortable. There was also a microwave and mini-fridge that we could use.

United States of AmericaThe elevator situation was problematic. One was out of service and often the other was often being used for construction. A problem for guests on a high floor and with a time commitment.

NetherlandsElevator capacity by itself is already limited Because of renovation work going on on a couple of floors, one of the two elevators was in use by the contractors most of the day, thus limiting elevator capacity even more. Otherwise: definitely value for money.
Location: very nice, walking dustance to Penn Station, Bus station, Time Square, and subway station Red Line 1, in a rather quiet street (certainly for NYC standards) Staff quite friendly, accommodating (eary check in) and pro-active Room small but efficient, nice shower Value for money, especially considering breakfast was included in our price Breakfast buffet (in a busy and informal part of the lobby) was not the most luxurious, but enough choice for starting the day with a filled stomach In this smokers-unfriendly city, the hotel has a small area in front, where "not-yet-successful quitters" like me can have their smoke. Without violating city laws and (more importantly) without causing annoyance to, and dirty looks from passers-by.
