Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe hotel is not properly cleaned; I even saw a flying bat when I left. Most of the rentals were related to the bar exam but they did not prepare rooms on time and we had to wait 2-3h to check in instead of spending this time studying. The AC is very noisy also.

United StatesThe owner is very controlling. They have a note limiting small breakfast sandwiches to one per customer, which I have never seen in a hotel. And the owner is pretending that he is watching TV, circulating around the breakfast area to see what you are eating.

United StatesIt is a historic, 120-year-old building with pertaining features, but the beds look also "historic".

United KingdomRooms are pretty dated. A bit of refurbishment and renovation will do wonders to this place. At least the bathrooms should be completely renovated. A lot of noises from pipes and other rooms due to the age of the building. We didnt have problems sleeping but its worth mentioning.
Central location in nice neighbourhood. A lot of bars and places to eat nearby. Apparently it is also a residential building but we didnt have any issues whatsoever. Room and bed were massive. Warm enough with the bad weather outside. Free parking. Front desk staff were amazing !

We might have had different expectations if we had realised beforehand it was such an old - even historic - hotel. But, even so, we thought the room was under furnished. There is no food service in the hotel so we bought breakfast foods and some dinners and set up the ironing board to use as a bench. The microwave and fridge were good but would prefer a jug to the coffeemaker. The bath room is dated; my wife has difficulty with shower over bath setups. The bed was comfortable, the linen clean, plenty of hot water and the laundry worked well. We might stay again if Buffalo is on our agenda. BTW, in our level 1 room the window would not lock or stay open; we put a bottle under it to get some fresh air in. I hope Lenox has a good future but it needs some TLC.

United StatesWhile I knew this was a historic building it was a lot older and aged than I was planning. The water pressure was very weak (to be fair they have notes that say it may take time for the water to heat up). The rooms felt a little dingy and the walls felt thin because we could hear nearby rooms and activity in the hallway. We also couldn’t control our room temperature so it was hot and uncomfortable.
Location was the best thing about this hotel, you walk/uber to a lot of nearby things.

United StatesElevator was charming- but a little temperamental - our floor button had to pressed just right to light up- not easy. We didn’t need a ramp to enter, but I saw someone with a walker have some difficulty using the lively stairs up to front desk
Location is ideal. Close to Jacobs School- SUNY Buffalo, walkable distance was key. Parking was in an attached lot however you must walk back to sidewalk to enter thru front door. Not difficult. The age of the building is simultaneously cool and also reminds me that it’s not a luxury hotel- door had to be slammed to shut for example. Some building noise came through from other rooms- voices, pipes, dripping. Fridge was a good size and cold inside. One person coffee maker was good- and stainless steel- I liked that! I wish a breakfast place other than Starbucks was available- by foot. Close enough for short drives to loads of restaurants.

United StatesThere is a sign in the bathroom letting you know to run the water for 5 minutes as it will take a few to let hot water reach your room. However, it took over 30 minutes for ours. We had a 2 night stay so that was truly our only inconvenience and I'm not sure being an older building if there would be much they could do to fix that. I do wish there was hangers in the closet for clothes as there was no dresser for clothes.
Staff was wonderful very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and comfy. Location is convenient for what we were there for.

United StatesA little too much in need of updates. Reminded me of my college dorm and not a hotel.
The hotel was close to some nice neighborhood restaurants and a short Uber to KeyBank Center. There is no longer a restaurant in this hotel so they should update this info on their description. Older hotel with year round residents. Rooms were clean, but plumbing and heat are old and quirky.
