To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaGym could be bigger. There wasn’t enough floor space to work with weights when there was more than one guest who wanted to use the weights.
Pet friendly! This was our first hotel stay with our dog. The hotel was super pet-friendly and will become our go-to chain when we travel with our dog. Convenient that the hotel is attached to the shopping mall parking lot. I prefer this to valet, since I was in Boston to do a bunch of errands and needed the car multiple times throughout the stay. I liked that the gym was on the top floor (light) and 24 hour accessible.

Fantastic location for th Cambridge half marathon with the usual Kimpton charm and super friendly staff! The food at the restaurant was terrific for two tired travelers- yummy pasta! And a really great brunch on Sunday after the race. Also super easy parking garage.

BrazilSince it's an IHG hotel, I expected some food, water or coffee amenities in the room, but there aren't any. There is no in-room dining after 11pm, so be aware that if you arrive late, you won't be able to order food from the restaurant or have it delivered to your room. There are also no bathroom amenities like cotton swabs or shower caps.
The room is spacious with very comfortable beds. The gym is nice, but the equipment is not the most modern. The hotel offers complimentary coffee in the reception area in the morning and wine in the afternoon.

It caused a temporary freeze on our credit card and phone calls and time on our part to resolve. The front desk staff dismissed the charges but our time and effort meant nothing to them. Inspect your bill carefully at this hotel!
