The location of the hotel was excellent. The room was superb. The staff were very helpful. Even the manager Klaus was excellent in explaining and answering our queries. I would recommend.

The only thing that could have made my stay a bit better were just nice to have a and very trivial things. I think American hotels use a lot of starch on their bedsheets so they crunch and crinkle in the night as you move and aren't very soft. But the temperature of the sheets was perfect. Another thing about American hotels in general is that the tubs are very shallow so you have to keep topping up the tub which isnt a complaint about the orchard but just something to be mindful of if you're on the larger or taller side and are used to UK sizes bath tubs.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and were able to accommodate my requests. The room was very spacious and peaceful away from the elevators. The decor was fairly modern but felt like home which I liked. The pillows were so comfy! I didn't eat at the resturant because I was out every day so can't comment on the food but the menu did look good when I saw it online. I loved that they had filtered water stations on each floor for us to refill water bottles to save on plastic. I absolutely loved that I could control the air conditioner myself without it being capped because I need it very cold. The tea and coffee selection was wonderful - almost as if they knew I drink decaf green tea! I was very pleasantly surprised with this. There was a little noise from neighbouring rooms at night but it was very minimal. It was a very peaceful stay overall. I will definitely be back next time I stay in San Francisco and will recommend this place to my friends.

Lack of soft drink machine and self service laundry. Also when toilet overflowed the staff person who came with plunger didn’t know what he was doing and failed to properly clean the floor with toilet water. I washed the floor with wet towel and dried it. Also before coming I spoke with someone on the premises who assured me the room windows opened but then i discovered they didn’t. I was told that they don’t open for safety reasons but I was still given misinformation.

Of course you can find more modern and luxurious hotel but you have to pay a lot more!

I searched a lot of hotels in San Francisco for my first visit of the USA. I've choose this hotel because of the position (super safe also at night!), the cable car just a few metres from the hotel and the price! For the price it exceed my expectation!!! Staff was super friendly and nice too, so thanks a lot!

Beautiful rooms, clean and spacious, lovely decor. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was just fab. Perfect location just on cable car stop and near china town and shops. Loved it, absolutely super value for money. Thoroughly recommend.

two blocks from Union Sq and a cable car stop at the door. 1 minute walking from Chinatown. Can't beat the location. Service 10/10.
