Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesThere were multiple items in need of repair. The sofa should have been replaced years ago such so that we wouldn't even sit on it. There was a missing sliding door on the closet. A bathroom heat lamp fixture was missing a bulb and was also askew showing dirt and dust. There was no room safe for valuables and I couldn't get the ice maker to work.

United StatesI did not like that a deposit was needed, as well as, I couldn’t leave or check out until the room was inspected and the manager arrived to give me my deposit. Not to mention that I was repeatedly told that the safe doesn’t open until 10am so I need to wait.
I like that it was in a discreet location so there wasn’t a bunch of people walking by being that it is located by the mall.

United StatesUpon arrival we found our room not very clean, kinda as if someone rushed to clean. Our fridge was not plugged in. The sofa bed was broken with a huge stain on the mattress(not use able). No extra blankets or towels. Stains on the comforters, and dust and dirt on the floors.
The beds were comfortable. And we had plenty of room for our family.

Gallons of water poured from ceiling around light fixture for the entire time someone showered and for a good ten minutes after the shower was finished. (GALLONS) Half of a baseboard or what was left from rotting due to water damage. Layers of grease on walls and appliances in kitchen. Couldn't just ignore the roaches. Way to many even for the palmetto state. Staff didn't seem too concerned about any of this):
