Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaTVs could be better, but it is what it is. Lot of homeless and tweakers hang around outside, never had trouble with them + what are you gonna do? It’s San Francisco. Don’t expect a high end fancy inn for a nice low price.
The stairs are secured by room key, so only guests are allowed around the actual rooms. View of scenic buildings, control of ac, and friendly staff! There’s a nice cafe and convenient store close by. Most of all a low price!

Abkhazia, GeorgiaReally can’t think of any dislikes other than my window didn’t open they should put more than one set of towels in the room and could invest in thicker comforter and add another pillow bed had 3 4 would be ideal
All in all I was pleasantly surprised with the room. The room was very clean. The owner was very friendly moved her car so that I could park. Rate was $30 a night but was given $20 a night complementary. I actually booked for Allstate weekend coming this year. Location is great center of everything. Convenient store rite across the street. Bus stop in front on motel. Seen a lot of ppl say location was bad due to the community but it didn’t bother me whatsoever. Building is secure and I felt safe leaving my car overall. Cool little honeycomb for the price we found a new getaway for a cool price

United States of AmericaBe aware that this section of Market Street is a center for unhoused individuals. We had no problems whatsoever, no one even asked for money, but not everyone might be comfortable with this kind of up-close encounter with urban homelessness. Other than that, location was within walking distance of a number of coffee shops and restaurants, and a short bus ride takes you to SF Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and several other museums as well as many more restaurants.
The exterior of this hotel looks dated and shabby, so we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and amenities of our updated room. There is a (slow) elevator we used to get to our third-floor room -- very welcome! Office staff was friendly and helpful, although we did have some communication challenges with one individual whose English seemed a bit shaky. There is a courtyard parking area and we were able to get a space ($10/night), but it looks like a first-come, first-served operation so I'm not sure you are guaranteed a space. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel or just up the block, depending on which way you are traveling. We found that very handy. The rail station to catch a train to Airport is about two blocks away, which is partly why I chose this hotel.

United States of AmericaAs in any city center, it is loud. If you aren't used to cities and being around a lot of homeless people, I would try to stay outside the city center. Our room was right next to a three lane one-way road, with cars honking and being generally loud all night. A guy got pulled over and we heard the whole interaction with the cop. We thought it was entertaining, but just know that this is not the place for relaxing
Great staff, very clean (inside the rooms). The two men working when I arrived were so very kind. I wasn't able to pay for parking in cash, and they were able to work it out on my card. Parking is sparse, but was available and relatively safe. The spaces themselves are also small, so keep that in mind if you have a large vehicle.

United States of AmericaInsulation from street noise would make for a more pleasant stay. The neighborhood has many street people, some that appeared to be on drugs. While on alert, I was never approached by any of them on my walks. If you need fast internet, do not book room 215; it works but not fast.
After a night of camping, I arrived an hour before check-in to shower and nap before a sold-out concert at Oracle Arena. I was pleased with my room. It was clean, seemingly remodeled for its age, everything worked and was in good condition. They had 2 pairs of earplugs on the nightstand. While I used a Lyft to get to my show, I was pleased to be able to run the 2 miles back to my room after the show. This was a plus in location for me, as was being able to walk to a great diner nearby that had good food and great service, also at a value for SF.

United States of AmericaThere is a high rate of homeless in and around the inn. I walked out in the day, but not at night. Taking uber and cabs at night added up, when I would have walked if I felt safe.

United States of AmericaThe male manager leaves a bit to be desired. At least one and some days it would be twice that I had to get my key card reenergized. Not a problem, except that the man at the desk was rude and didn't mind having me wait outside for a key to get into a room that I'd already paid for. Customers are definitely not first in his eyes.
I liked most everything about my stay.

IsraelThe location was pretty bad, it was super noisy 24/7, we had a hard time sleeping. We didn’t feel safe to walk around and the bus options were not great from this area. Also don’t expect it to be a hotel, it’s a motel.
The rooms are nice, the staff too. After the first night we wanted to cancel the rest of our stay bc of the noise. The hotel staff were willing to give us our money back which was comforting.

NetherlandsThe 'curtains' were not fully blocking the light. Also, the street is quite noisy which made the night sleep a bit less comfortable. The pillows could have been better. Close to the city center with a lot of homeless people but that's not the motel's problem.
Clean room, a lot cable TV options available, big and rather comfortable bed. The motel was really affordable in terms of pricing in San Fransisco standards. Cleaning everyday. I had very low expectations given 2-stars

CanadaIt was too dangerous area for us. Homeless and drugged people everywhere around. We didn’t have a car and we were scared to walk there even during the day. We had an incident with a manager after we left. The receptionist (who was really nice btw) allowed us to leave a key in the room, because we had to leave early in the morning. I got a voice mail from the manager the next morning that we didn’t do check out and to call him or he might charge my credit card. It was the hotel’s miscommunication, but he the way he talked to me when I called back was horrendous. He even hung up on me and didn’t apologized at all. I understand that mistake can happen, but to treat customer like this is unacceptable for me.
The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was cleaned up every day. There was some noise from the street, but it didn’t bother us.

Czech RepublicWi-Fi didn’t work very well. There are a lot of homeless people in the street, but the hotel is doing their best to prevent them from entering the object. The corridors, staircase as well as the elevator are only accessible with a keycard. We didn’t have any problems.

FranceThe neighborhood is full of Hobo, but they are not aggressive or anything. It's disturbing and can be a little uncomfortable, but you can just ignore them. We hear a lot the guests just above us.
The room was clean and comfortable. It's a central for visiting the city. Good quality for the price considering it's San Francisco and everything is expensive.
