Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location was excellent, access within walking distance to everything. Loved the pool and hot tub. Also loved the complimentary glass of wine each evening. Such a nice touch. Loved the M club also.

Rude receptionist on arrival insisted they didn’t have our booking and made no effort to help. We had to ring Booking.com ourselves who rang the hotel and sorted out for us. We requested a room with bath but no mention was made at check in and we were too tired to go back down to reception. We had paid for a room with breakfast included but reception added the we cost to our final bill. There was no apology and we had to wait ages for them to correct the bill
Very comfortable, great location, very nice food with healthy options. Staff in restaurants very friendly

1. Hotel rooms are very small, also the room height is very low so you are feeling like locked in a little box. 2. Breakfast is like in 3 star hotel… never seen in Marriot hotels such poor and little choice option breakfast as hear… do not pay for that breakfast better just to walk out from the hotel and have a breakfast somewhere… 3. I asked for a pair of slippers, but was told that the hotel is out of the slippers due to the long weekend… that is just shameful for such hotel and the price for the room… So definetely the amenities worth the price, but pay more than 400$ per night and get such breakfast and room service is wrong

Since we rented an electric car, it would have been nice if the parking offered charger, even for a fee. Also the parking fee was expensive and the parking was outdoors, not indoors,

Although the buffet breakfast was excellent, drinks had to be ordered separately and were not available at the buffet. This meant that we had to not only sign for the prepaid food but also then tip the server for the drinks. Some employees were not so friendly. The motion sensitive lights in the closet and bathroom were too sensitive. For example our movement on the other side of the room would trigger the closet light to turn on unnecessarily. How about just a simple on/off switch on the closet wall.
Good location and view. Buffet breakfast was good. Starbucks was convenient. Room was clean. Easy check in and checkout. Quiet room. Spacious lobby. Walking distance to harbor and Gaslamp district.

Our service at marina restaurant was lacking but food excellent
Roy’s patio for dinner The ferry to Coronado was convenient and so much fun. We also walked to seaport village for shopping and dining

The beds were not that good. Of course it’s not the bed from home but my back did not like the spring mattresses. It was good for a night though.

There was a charge per day, which included internet, wine tasting and some other stuff, but wasn't expecting it to be honest. Also, who pays for wifi these days?
The location is fantastic, a stone's throw from downtown areas, next to the seafront, it's fantastic. The staff were all absolutely awesome.
