How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The shower was extremely hard to use. Room was not clean. Bathtub non slick surface was worn off which made the shower slick and hazardous

The pillows. I know silly but if you have a sensitive neck bring your own pillows or ask for more. 5 days later and my neck is still messed up.
It was very clean, perfect downtown location!

Some bedsheets had stains, the in room coffee maker didn’t come with any coffee filters, and the was wallpaper ripping from wall. The room temperature was set to 55° but it felt like 80. Also hotel staff explained no information to me upon payment and receiving the room key, I had to ask for basic information such as floor and room number and facilities the hotel offers.
Awesome location and views.

I didn't like that there was no alarm clock. I didn't like that the refrigerator seemed in the way. The floor wall protector near the bathroom came loose, the shower chair had no leg protectors.
Food and restaurant waitstaff was excellent. I liked that there was easy access to lots of outlets, no parking.

The air conditioner in the room did not work well at all. Parking was inconvenient and valet was expensive.
Property was clean and felt safe. Staff was very friendly.

Starbucks in the lobby doesn't take Apple Pay and had run out of most of their food by 11am!
Pretty much as expected for an older hotel - gym was fine and rooms were very large. Two double beds with lots of space to spare. The valet service was great and the staff were friendly.

There were very few food options besides the hotel restaurant and it was unclear if there was room service.

The pillows were pretty awful. They were like sleeping with a bunch of balled up socks in my pillow case. I had to ask for several replacements the next day, but lost sleep the first night since the pillows were sooooo bad.
Location is great and the staff is friendly. The restaurant and food was unexpectedly good.

Parking! I was okay with it, once I figured it out. But….. The website doesn’t tell you where to park; only that it costs $17/day. I called the hotel and the person told me that it was a short distance away. She failed to say that there was another parking structure with the SAME NAME that was on the next street and no the alleyway she failed to convey to me and my travel companions. All and all it wasn’t the biggest of deals. But I would have thought that a hotel the size of a 22 story Sheridan would have better instructions of where to park. It wasn’t just me. The people that I was meeting were just as confused.
It was clean and quiet. Great views of the surrounding area.

No parking included. But there is an underground pay lot right next to it.
Bed was comfortable. Location was perfect for concert we were attending downtown. Close to bars too

The heat wasn’t working. Staff quickly got us another room but the view wasn’t great, the tv was tiny and there were what looked like human fluids on the wall by the bed. Plus, parking is very expansive and I was charged $50 for the restaurant for an unknown reason.
The room I booked had a great view and large tv.

The aircondition of our room wasn’t working properly the last day of our stay and it was really hot in August. The technician tried to fix it but without success, so they suggested to change room but we refused because it was our last day. Finally, they brought us a fan to pass the night.
Great room size, excellent cleanliness, also convenient location. Helpful staff.

The water pressure in the shower was terribly weak..
