Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom was beyond luxury! Our other NYC hotel room would have fit into the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and the bath was like a swimming pool. Staff gave us a free glass of champagne and mini desserts as we were still in our wedding garb!

United KingdomThe quality of the food in the Palm Court could have been a little better. Quite a lot of it closed, such as the bar upstairs, shopping area etc. Not much to do within the hotel itself.
The location of the hotel is superb! Most of the staff provided excellent service. Room very spacious but a little tired in places. The Champagne Bar was excellent especially Russell who provided 5* service and a very genuine, friendly person who made our stay!

United KingdomMy only issue was that when we ran the bath, the water that came out of the tap at first was brown. This did clear, however it was not very pleasant and not something that I would expect from a hotel of this standard.

United KingdomWe are breakfast at The Palm Court and it was average at best. We had to send one dish back as it was over cooked, found plastic in another dish. The manager did come and apologize and take that dish off the bill but we were really disappointed with the food there which is a shame. The quality and presentation did not reflect the price. No water in the room we had to call housekeeping several times to bring some up
Loved staying at The Plaza. We were celebrating a special occasion and they left us a bottle of champagne in our room which was a lovely touch. We had a great room with a view of the park, all the staff were very helpful. They have the champagne lounge that is for hotel guests only which is lovely. Really happy we celebrated here

AustraliaWell, it's the most expensive??? Hotel in NYC so we expected more. It's basically a tourist attraction... so busy with sightseers, dirty red carpet at entrance, service was only so so. Not worth the money. Of course, if you have money to throw away go right ahead....
The room was lovely

United States of AmericaThe gentleman who stands in foyer was noted with a bad attitude. My mother and I had a fun playful bet if the flowers were real or not. When the gentleman was asked his reply, “Your standing there, what do you think?” When we asked for car service to airport, reply was we offer for like $400(ball park) then asked to call for taxi (night before)told we don’t offer that service. Staff verbalized like I interrupted their day.
We had services with salon and those woman were over the top amazing. Customer service was on point and friendly. Very welcoming, respectful and fun.

United States of AmericaParts of the hotel were still closed like the Oak Room/Bar and the stores downstairs. The hotel had overpowering smell in the lobby and common areas that could be toned down. Turn down service was nice but typically hotels like this leave a night time treat for turn down services. The hot water in the shower was not very hot and slow to heat up.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were quiet and clean. We loved the location next to the park. The gym was well outfitted.

United States of AmericaCould not even sit at the hotel bar for a drink while waiting for my partner, as seating is limited and evidently all is reserved. The public spaces are also a bit dated.
One of the grande dames of the city. Luxury. Does deserve a spruce up to really bring it up to where it belongs.

United Kingdomthe lack of things included in your stay cost ! no water in room or coffee/tea making facilities. everything is charged for on top of the room rate. even in the shard you get coffee making etc the cost of drinks and food are extortionate then you have 18% tip plus tax to add on. don’t bother with the mini bar it’s so expensive too. also the breakfast rate is a waste of time as they just give you £60 head to spend in the bar to order set meals for breakfast not a buffet like other large hotels. overall highly over priced and a rip off
the iconic design and decoration/furnishings position good on edge of Central Park most staff were lovely. couple of door staff and luggage men were grumpy
