Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I didn't like the noisy Bigfoot in the room above us.... And I didn't like that you could not pull the curtains to close the windows for complete privacy

Helen's diner on property was only open to 10! & in fact when we went it was closed & deserted at 945. We never tried again. We aren't ear)y birds! Bed was extremely soft! Turned out very comfy! Because of the whirlpool tub it could get musty. AC could cool but didn't seem to get all the dampness out. Minor thing. Just 4 drawers in the TV cabinet with a small refrigerator & we couldn't get 2 of them open.
Room with King bed & hot tub were great to relax in in private.plenty of pillows & nice towels & hot water! Mirror & sink outside of bathroom is handy. They also have indoor & outdoor pools! Pretty river views in back. TV & fast wifi! Both came on immediately, no problem all 5 days! Central location on Cape. Minutes from Hyannis. 1 hour to p-town. Near Pirates Cove mini golf!

Need first floor but was happy with second floor. Thank you!
Checked out early before office was open. Did not try the Diner on property. Beds are comfortable! Older style rooms very clean. Indoor and outdoor pool on property. Price, location, pictures made me take a night stay. Not perfect a few torn window treatments. Very glad that the reservation office is honest regarding wait times for breakfast and room pricing! Would stay again!

The building we were in smelled really old. The bathroom sink counter could barely hold a toothbrush , much less a travel makeup bag and the coffee maker.

We were only there one night. The beds were HEAVENLY! Though we didn't use the pools it was nice that they have an indoor AND outdoor pool. Great for family with kids. Didn't eat in the restaurant on site, but we enjoyed a takeout coffee.

The only thing the room lacked, like Hunter's, was a better sized refrigerator. Sad to hear Tidewater is going to be redone like Hunter's which became Freebird, so presumably the rates will go up significantly. There's something to be said for clean, comfortable, and most of all cost effective lodging without having to be "cool" or "trendy." Many people we met during our week had also formerly stayed at Hunter's and came to Tidewater for the same reasons we did. One in fact was our "next door neighbor" three years ago. We'd love to come back again, but we'll see what happens on the other side of the makeover.
We almost stayed here a few years ago but chose sister location Hunter's Green instead, which we loved, but unfortunately was rebranded and became much more expensive so we chose Tidewater this year due to the fact it was run by the same people, affordable, and had equally good reviews. Our room was very clean, very comfortable, location perfect for the Barnstable/Hyannis/Yarmouth/Dennis area, the pool was clean and well maintained, the staff very polite and personable. For being right on Rt. 28, overall a quiet location. Met some really nice people. Very happy with our week, thank you very much!
