Unit 72 was noisy - street traffic at night and our balcony "garden view" actually looked at a couple trees and the storage room of another facility next door, where their housekeeping staff gather with early AM chatter 🤨

Location is the best, right on the beach and about in the middle of Longboat. Comfortable beds, nice decor. Would definitely stay here again, just not in Unit 72.

The shower drain didn't work, there wasn't a way to use the oven and the carport flooded to the door every time it rained.

The rooms were spacious and very close to the beach. The staff was friendly and we had privacy.

All the beds should be replaced. This suite has no ocean view and the laundry room that services the whole complex was operating daily from the view we had. Perhaps add some more trees/plants/landscaping to allow for more privacy.

Our family liked the pool and private beach. Stayed in "family suite", which is the combination of 2 units. Did not feel cramped like in a hotel, and had 2 bathrooms with showers. Kitchen allowed us to stock up from Publix just a few minutes drive away for breakfast and lunch meals, while letting us explore dinner dining options up and down Longboat Key. Tip: Keep track of office hours, so you can swap towels and get anything else needed daily. As mentioned in other posts, street noise was a concern before visiting - no issue when we visited.

Unit 502:The Kitchen and bath was updated. And very cozi. The Bedrooms were outdated- and the beds were awful. They were completley worn out. Spring mattresses- that was sagging in the middle. My husband slept in the dip- and i laid on the sloap. Needless to say we didnt get good sleep. And bedroom & living room furniture was dated. Couch was very worn and couch bed was awful. Elevator was extremely slow. No Ice machine or ice maker in room.

The location was very nice. The Amenities were all there. Pool, Private beach. Beach chairs available. And beach umbrellas. Available. Coin laundry parking was convenient enough.

There was a security light right outside the unit that came in through the curtains of the bedroom. Staff immediately took out the bright light bulb and replaced it with a dimmer different colored bulb.

Right on a quiet section of the beach, great for daily beach walks. Unit was clean and well stocked. Neighbors in other units were all very friendly as well as the staff. Staff was also very attentive and quick to respond to questions and concerns.

Our flight arrived early 830AM ask about parking there and using the amenity. I was told to check with them at 11 on day of arrival. We did early check in was not a possibility. We were not offered the uses of amenity at that time. We had made alternatives plans for that day.

The villa was great clean, recently updated the ground were beautiful. No ocean views but we were just around the conner very easy walk. You will need car for shopping and food delivery services were not readily available. I would stay again.

My only complaint is the beds and sheets. The sheets felt plastic-y and the bed was just sub par for long stays if you have a bad spine.

We stayed in room 103. We had to leave a day earlier because we couldn't take another sleepless, painful night on that bed. We didn't want to leave a day early because we had paid in advance, but we had to get home to a soft bed.

Unit #72 needs maintenance/repairs. For the price, we weren’t expecting it to appear so run down and dirty. Refrigerator shelf broken, cabinet drawer in kitchen damaged, bathroom sink cracked & missing drain stopper, blinds broken/unable to close, vertical blind missing. Furniture dated - specifically sofa bed, Bathroom tub mold & tile cracked, Bathroom tile and tub dirty. Flooring and baseboards throughout dirty. Deadbolt to door broken/difficult to lock - could only use handle lock during stay. Bedroom TV has noise crackling issue. We were informed no other units available so opted to just make the best of the stay rather than be inconvenienced for maintenance and housekeeping issues.

Beach was absolutely beautiful! Property grounds lovely and location great!

Very disappointing mid-September stay at Turtle Crawl Inn. Beach at Longboat Key was always one of the nicest in Florida; right now it's gross. Major erosion & seaweed has piled up (smells terrible). Room was booked through Booking.com ($647 for 2 nights that included a $150 cleaning fee) which is a reasonable fee, except that the room was probably the worst one there (2nd floor end unit in 2-story building right next to the highway, complete with all the highway noise); rear balcony overlooked an alleyway and the complex's tool shed. Rest of the complex was nearly empty during our mid-week stay. Turtle Crawl Inn has signs posted that they're undergoing major renovation, but couldn't see any evidence of that. Will concur with them though; it definitely needs renovation.

Have stayed at Longboat Key many times, and at Turtle Crawl Inn several times. The location is excellent and it's right on the beach. Older facility (1950-1960's timeframe) but typically maintained in good condition. Weather was nice (low 90's during day & didn't rain except at night). Pool was small (9 people max) but it was nice. We live in Tampa area & like to get away for a couple of short beach stays each year. Longboat Key is VERY quiet and has several excellent restaurants. Ate at one of our favorites in Florida, the Dry Dock Grill (exceptional seafood) and also at the Lazy Lobster (also very good seafood). Blue Moon restaurant (next door to Lazy Lobster) has a very nice breakfast, as does Peach's (down in Holmes Beach area). St Armand's Circle is only a handful of miles away from Turtle Crawl Inn and is a nice place to do a little specialty shopping; the gelato at Settimi's is exceptional BTW.
