To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaWe would have preferred to have paid for our accommodation up front in one payment as we were able to do for all the other accommodation places we stayed at whilst on holiday in South Africa. Also, the 'Property Security Deposit' payment has to be paid 7 days prior to our arrival and by credit card, which we were unable to do as we are overseas visitors and use a travelcard instead of credit card whilst in South Africa. Luckily, the reception at De Waterkant arranged for me to make this payment in advance before our departure from Australia. We enjoyed staying at De Waterkant cottages but would like to have a less laborious system of payments for our accommodation.
Our check in process went very smoothly and all the details of our accommodations were clearly explained.

South AfricaThe twin bed down stairs hard very hard, shower in the main bedroom is slippery and the door in the upstairs bedroom needs to be fixed as it doesn’t close. The dishwasher tablets are not replaced.
7 bay view is well kept and decorated. The views of Cape Town are exceptional. Centrally located. Host is quick to respond. Cleaning is done twice a week include changing of bedding and towels.

South AfricaIt’s a corporate run holiday let - so you pay an additional breakage deposit and have to complete extra paperwork, no cute welcome touches, need to bring everything yourself. Not to have a dishwasher was disappointing for a group of 8.

SingaporeOn arrival day, it was raining heavily with strong winds there was a leakage on the wall. It was quite bad that we need towels and pail. Reported it and the maintenance man came in within 30mins 👍🏼. Couldn’t rectify the problem cos of the rain but did bring more towels.
Couldn’t remember his name but after a long flight, you met with a friendly joyful guy does make our day. 😍 The apartment is clean and have everything you need, coffee machine, well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, for our 5 days stay. 3 story, 4 bedroom with a terrace on the top floor. 😍 The housekeeper did a fantastic job cleaning the place up during our stay. 😍 Location is near restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. 👍🏼

South AfricaHot Tub was a highlight but it cannot fit 8people comfortably lol so if your max is 8 in the apartment a bigger one should be considered some day. Also just a suggestion is that the TV should be in the bigger sitting area. because the upstairs seating is limited so Tv time is really not a full group thing- upstairs can focus on being like a mini games area perhaps without the tv. Shower in the downstairs room would be better
We loved the set up. it was easy for Ubers to get to us. were were close to almost everything we wanted to see. the Hot Tub was a highlight . the amenities were more than sufficient - we only had breakfast in the apartment so we didn't use much of the stuff but for those who are going full on self catering the stuff in the apartment is perfect for all meals. the hosts were accomodating since we did an early checkin and also needed a slightly late checkout that we had really no control over since work was involved so the host was acomodating to that which we really appreciated. The Zulu traditional hats were a great touch to the decor.

The location was outstanding. Property includes safe, free parking (with permit), which is essential. The apartment was exceptionally clean and very well furnished. Very comfortable beds and the rooftop jacuzzi amazing. Excellent view of city and Table Mountain. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. James at check-in was exceptionally friendly and check-in quick. Overall very good service and outstanding stay. We will be back. Thank you
