Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThe mold is a concern. As well as the last piece of road.
It was quite and out of the way.

South AfricaThe wood was a bit wet so it was difficult to start the fire but we eventually got it going ! Otherwise everything was impeccable.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Peace Corner Cottages in Dulstroom, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm hospitality and attention to detail. Let's start with the beds—truly the epitome of comfort. After a long day of exploring the charming town of Dulstroom, sinking into the plush bedding felt like a dream. It's no exaggeration to say it was the best sleep I've had in a long time. The linens were crisp, the pillows just the right amount of softness, creating an oasis of relaxation. And then there's the Poppy cottage—what a gem! Spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything one could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the carefully chosen furnishings to the thoughtful amenities provided. But what truly sets Peace Corner Cottages apart is the little touches that make guests feel truly welcome. The complimentary sherry was a delightful surprise, perfect for unwinding by the fireplace after a day of sightseeing. And let's talk affordability. Given the level of comfort and the impeccable service, the value for money is outstanding. It's rare to find accommodation that offers such a perfect balance of quality and affordability. Needless to say, I will be returning to Peace Corner Cottages time and time again. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat in nature, this is the place to be. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making my stay unforgettable.

South AfricaThe only drawback was a place to hang our wedding clothing, though there was a coatrack with limited space. Dullstroom being a wedding-mecca, it could be that many guests attending weddings would like hanging space. We managed well. Thank-you!!
It was basic, but warm...was a very cold rainy time, but the electric blanket, the full length mirror, huge shower, was great. We were there for a wedding.. The contact lady, difficult name to remember, was very friendly and accommodating. We contacted her on several occasions and she was always bubbly, thankyou!!!

South AfricaThat the units are all attached (semi-detached), so you hear sounds from the neighbouring units. You cannot park you car by the unit. The parking is however safe and lock up at the end of the building.
The location was good, close to town but away from the noise. The facilities were great, had everything you need. We stayed in the Poppy (red) unit.

South AfricaA few micowave-safe containers would have been appreciated. Small fridge was ok for a few days but not sufficient for a longer stay.
Delighful, well-appointed cottage with fenced back garden in a very quiet area. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and a small but well-stocked supermarket. Comfortable bed and big bathroon with double showers. Fireplace (with firewood an lighter provided) in the lounge was much appreciated. Open parking on the grass in front of the cottage entrance.

GermanyThe only not so good thing is the street towards the cottage.
The Cottage was super cozy with everything you need. There was even a small supply of coffee and tea and some fresh milk in the fridge. The interior was full of love and detail. Unfortunately we just had a one night stopover on the way to the airport.

EswatiniLocated in beautiful Dullstroom, such a quaint village, this place was great. Had a Mini bar fridge and microwave, tea, coffee and hot chocolate available, and a bit of sherry too. Beautiful big shower with lots of pressure, bed and pillows were comfortable. Had everything we needed for the night. Would definitely recommend it. The host was really helpful and readily available when we needed anything. Felt very safe and secure

South AfricaNo mesh in front of fireplace. Burning coals would spark onto the floor where you walked. Braai outside is falling apart. Wood was wet and didnt burn easily. Bathroom seems a bit dated.
We upgraded for free to a bigger unit as it was quiet. Room was comfortable and neat. Bed was really comfortable and kitchen had all we needed. Room also had a very comfortable couch and dining area.was a nice place to spend the weekend.

South AfricaSlow Wi-Fi - but then, you wouldn't really go to Dullstroom to be online.
We were really comfortable in our little cottage (Bluebell). There was parking for our vehicle behind a gate, a large bathroom, and comfy beds. The internet signal wasn't great (couldn't hold a WhatsApp video call). We were super happy though and will definitely stay again.
