We found out that we had 1 set of towels the night we checked in, the next day we asked for extra towels, the lady's tone was unappreciated because my friend explained, she still came to me to ask again. The tap system in the toilet was a bit tricky to operate but we got it eventually, the water pressure of the shower, not good at all. No ironing facilities in the room, we had to go to the laundry room to iron, I get it's a small place. The hot breakfast was bland, we didn't even have it on the last day.

Quaint small place, room was clean. The front desk staff, Mr Zulu and another gentleman were very helpful and friendly. The cold breakfast was good, muffins fresh and a decent coffee machine. The view is beautiful, the area and accommodation is quiet, ideal if you just want to relax. The lady staff were ok

The breakfast was a bit haphazard. We had to ask for more milk, bowls, cups, and glasses each morning, rather than them being automatically re stocked. The location is a bit further away than the listing would suggest - you won't be walking anywhere, but an Uber to the Waterfront was very cheap and only took 7ish minutes. I'm not sure if this is the norm in South Africa, but we had to open a water valve to get water in the bathroom sink or shower, and the water pressure wasn't very high, but we got by!

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were nice. My bed was very comfortable. The view from the hotel was beautiful.

This is the 94new South Africa equivalent what the castles are to medieval Europe. The attention to detail and effort invested to turn this into a exquisitely preserved living monument from one of ZA most iconic times is something to behold.

The size of the room was a bit disappointing even though it was only myself as a single guest.

the view from the lodge was breathtaking.Consideing the size of the lodge the price of accommodation was value for money.

The worst shower we had in our 3 weeks in South Africa (and we've been to the North, to the East, to the centre and to the South). What a turn-off. It wasn't really getting to the temperature that we desired, but most frustrating was the amount of water that was dripping out of it. We never had the feeling of having had a shower, we never actually felt the water coming down on our skin (the water jets were that thin and light). The soap stayed on your body, and if you grabbed the shower hose there wasn't even enough pressure to make the water go vertical upwards for more than a cm (there goes the washing the soap away from your armpits for example). As a last stop in South Africa the room isn't really big or handy to organise your luggage either. The Wifi was not working in our room, unless you stood right next to and even against the entrance door (then you got a "sometimes working 1 bar of Wifi").

Very friendly staff, both at the reception as in the kitchen/breakfast area. Our first night we got the whole tour of the hotel thanks to the receptionist. The room was very clean and well maintained. We loved the fact that there was our own private cosy terrace outside! The bed was enormous and gave us a good night sleep. The location was superb; it was quiet yet right at the middle of everything at the same time + easy accessible. The breakfast had an extensive selection and tasted really good. The view from this hotel facing the city bowl and a couple of skyscrapers and the hills was magnificent! There was a secure parking area as well (a bit small for all the cars that were parked there, but you had a spot anyway).
