Staff, spa, quality of dinner, close to ever town we wanted to visit around by car. Make sure to get half board as food is amazing . 4 course meal. Gym was great and had lots of variety of machines like a gym in north America. Try to get Spa in your package as entry to turkish bath , dry sauna , and hydro therapy will coast 50 euro per person per half a day. Pools were great. Get half board with spa access.

We travel several weeks a year in Italy and often seek out the wonderful medieval hill towns. When visiting those, there is always a decision to be made. Do you stay farther out in a larger more modern facility (or agricultura - farm stay), or do you stay inside the wall, which is always in a centuries old and charming historic property so thus has size and amenity limitations? We do both quite often. But it is great to be able to just walk out the door and be in the heart of the medieval old town - morning and nights and all day long while being able to take breaks in the room. We took a taxi that had permission to enter the restricted area that dropped us right at the hotel door with our bags and we stayed 3 nights. We had the larger "comfort" room (or Superior, which is the same size) and there was plenty of room to open and store on the floor two suitcases - very clean and comfortable. The staff was great at helping us with advice for traveling in the area. Nice breakfast. Great coffee. This is by far the best hotel inside the walls of fantastic Gubbio. It is right next to the Grand Plaza - the best location in town.
