The room is just right for two and it's clean and comfortable. The free entry to bath house opposite the Ryokan is a must try.

Newly opened in August 2016, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae offers accommodations with free WiFi. The hotel is directly connected to JR Kyoto Station and a 4-minute walk away. Amenities are better than other hotels that the guest can choose by themselves. This time in Kyoto, our family was upgraded to the better room type because we have a small kid.

The staff was extremely nice and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Perfect location for a stay during a conference at Kyoto University, with easy bus access. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Very nice, clean, and spacious room, plus a lovely hot spa. Highly recommend — we have stayed at this hotel chain several times.

Offering free Wi-Fi and a spacious public bath, Ryokan Ryokufuso is located a 15-minute walk away from JR Kyoto Train Station. We really loved the ryokan. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and it reflected traditional Japanese culture wonderfully. The staff were excellent — very kind and helpful. Despite some reviews mentioning noise, we had no issues at all; in fact, I would say it was quite peaceful. We also used the onsen and truly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for us in every way, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The location of the hotel was a little bit away from the city center, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. Kyoto is a small city, and we could easily get to all the places we wanted to visit. So if you’re staying at a ryokan like this, I think location doesn’t matter that much — unless you’re planning a very long stay, in which case you might want to consider it. For us, it was definitely not a problem.

So close to the train station, made it super easy to get around. They even gave us Christmas gifts 💯 We were three people, so having the toilet separated from the shower and sink was great. That meant that we could be more effective in the morning.

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. The special Japanese atmosphere is one of a kind, it is not a luxurious hotel, but everything is well organized and elegant, we were treated with polite staff and very comfortable service, we are happy and satisfied with the amazing living/ onsen experience in Seikoro Kyoto. Will consider this place again in the future.

Nestled in a quiet residential area, Kyoto Brighton Hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto, a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Imperial Palace. All guest rooms are non-smoking and soundproofed. The hotel itself is huge, very well kept and stylized. The staff were nice and spoke English well so it was easy as a foreigner. The room itself was large and extremely clean as the rest of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bath was large and very nice, they provide you with bath salts for a nice soak. There were a few different tea sets you could try, one of them being a matcha set. It was quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. I got a massage, the masseuse was very nice and professional, I felt relaxed. The food at the restaurants was very good as well, there were a few options for different cuisines and budgets. Overall a great experience and value for money. I came to relax and managed to do just that!
