Newly opened in August 2016, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae offers accommodations with free WiFi. The hotel is directly connected to JR Kyoto Station and a 4-minute walk away. Location next to train station, you can actually walk underground to access the hotel, staff very friendly, they managed to get us a double bed instead of 2 twin beds as we purchased from the website, easy to check in and check out, room was huge compared to other rooms we had stayed in Japan and amenities were also great

Beautiful interior fitting Kyoto. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well maintaned. The staff was polite and were able to speak English fluently. The recommendations for local sento/onsen were great. They regularly host different events like tea ceremony etc.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Staff were very helpful and pleasant and assisted us with phone call to home country plus helped with transportation advice and restaurants. On-site onset was welcome relief after walking all day. Coin operated washing machine is feature every hotel should offer

Offering free Wi-Fi and a spacious public bath, Ryokan Ryokufuso is located a 15-minute walk away from JR Kyoto Train Station. We really loved the ryokan. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and it reflected traditional Japanese culture wonderfully. The staff were excellent — very kind and helpful. Despite some reviews mentioning noise, we had no issues at all; in fact, I would say it was quite peaceful. We also used the onsen and truly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for us in every way, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The location of the hotel was a little bit away from the city center, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. Kyoto is a small city, and we could easily get to all the places we wanted to visit. So if you’re staying at a ryokan like this, I think location doesn’t matter that much — unless you’re planning a very long stay, in which case you might want to consider it. For us, it was definitely not a problem.

Nestled in a quiet residential area, Kyoto Brighton Hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto, a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Imperial Palace. All guest rooms are non-smoking and soundproofed. Everything was perfect; comfort, staff, breakfast. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Brighton. Thank you!
