We had a wonderful stay at Mampei Hotel, a beautiful hotel with a long and rich history. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Mr. Komiyama (if I got his name right), who went out of his way to assist us. The atmosphere was warm and peaceful, and it was special to stay at a place once frequented by John Lennon. Our room was elegant and comfortable, with a private onsen bath, and breakfast was thoughtfully prepared to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The scenic drive in and proximity to the old Ginza street added to the charm. A truly memorable and happy experience.

Amazing hosts - very polite, sociable, always welcoming and fully involved in making your stay as comfortable and interesting as possible! We've got a lot of useful advice especially regarding our further visit to Tokyo and shopping there! GoHemp is great! :) Great hotel location - everything is in 5min walk distance - shops, combini, train station, tasty restaurants! Everything was excellent - the room, the check-in process, all the facilities. We will absolutely stay at this place more and more times during our next visits.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. Location is superb. The shuttle was really helpful. The service is impeccable. Breakfast was amazing.

B&B Hotel Hyochoan opnaði í ágúst 2012 og býður upp á einföld gistirými í vestrænum stíl. Ókeypis WiFi er í boði á herbergjunum og gestir geta farið í fuglaskoðun á verönd gististaðarins. The room is very clean and comfortable. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is the best!

Oshi Ryokan er staðsett í Nagano, 20 km frá Zenkoji-hofinu, 22 km frá Nagano-stöðinni og 32 km frá dýragarðinum í Suzaka City. Felt instantly comfortable and at home. Beautiful old building. Wonderful staff and food!

The couple running the hotel are absolutely fantastic, offering to drive us to the Monkey Park and collect/drop us off at the train station (a 15 minute walk away) and were very helpful in giving recommendations and informative leaflets about the area. There was a Onsen in the hotel that was private for the guests and the stay also included free use of all 14 public Onsens in the village. The room was enormous with a private toilet and fridge (no shower as this was within the Onsen space). We were worried about the comfort of the tatami mat beds but they were very comfortable. Air conditioning and heating both available in the room. Lovely choice of restaurants in the area and beautiful little village. Breakfast and dinner options available but we did not use this.

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. Fantastic staff, great central location. They offer a shuttle ride to and from the train station which was awesome to have! Very clean ryokan, great amenities. The breakfast and dinner were very tasty! There are a lot of different public onsens that you have available to you as a guest. They also will drive you to the Snow Monkey Park entrance if you arrive at the appropriate time. The do not offer pick-up from the park, but the hotel is 15 or so minute walk from the park entrance. I actually enjoyed walking back (downhill too!), it was nice to see the town. You will not regret coming here! It was a wonderful and relaxing experience! Tips for Snow Monkey Park. Go later in the day or very early to avoid a lot of people. It also depends on the time of year for bigger or smaller crowds. I I came in early November and went in the late afternoon and there were many monkeys, and not a lot of people. However, I imagine can get quite busy during the winter time. They don't seem bothered by the people. I was even lucky to see on go in the hot spring which I don't know if that's normal for early November. Tips for public onsen: In the public onsen that I went to there wasn't a cleaning station, so instead you take the bucket and pour the onsen spring water all over the body upon entering. It's VERY hot, again the one I went to, which I believe is one of the bigger public onsens. I enjoy hot water, but this was so hot, I couldn't stay in it for more than 10 minutes.
