Boasting views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi for all rooms and hot-spring baths, Hotel Asafuji provides air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms with a green tea set. I booked this hotel as a gift for my mum on her first visit to Japan and it exceeded all of our expectations. On arrival at Kawaguchiko station, I called the hotel to arrange the shuttle pick up and they arrived within about 5 minutes. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and spoke great English which I was worried about navigating. The staff showed us to our rooms and explained all of the amenities and facilities, including the arrangements for breakfast and dinner so that they could have everything ready for us at a time we chose. The meals here were incredible! The ingredients were very high quality and everything was prepared with a lot of care and close attention. The dinner and breakfast staff explained each dish as it was brought out which gave the experience a Michelin star feel to it which we really enjoyed. The food was absolutely delicious and better than most restaurants I've eaten at before! The hotel also has an onsen on the top floor which is reserved for guests only. There are small towels provided in the guest rooms for the onsen which of course are gender segregated for privacy and are very relaxing and peaceful to enjoy. The room we stayed in was a traditional Japanese style tatami room with futon mattresses which were very modern and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and equipped with toiletries, green tea and a tea set with some wagashi sweets, and yukata for guests to wear. The best thing was the breathtaking view of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt Fuji off to the left-hand side which was absolutely stunning at sunrise. Overall, our stay at Hotel Asafuji was beyond anything we could have expected or hoped for. We felt incredibly well looked after by the staff and our stay was perfect.

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. Breakfast was incredible. Staff are incredibe. I would recommend to anyone to stay here
