Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. The shuttle service from the ferry terminal, the private bath (free of charge) available for timeslot bookings, and the staff were all wonderful and exceptional. Amazing views. The private bath was a welcome amenity for us as we didn't realize it was something offered without extra charge. It has two showers and a bath with adjustable temperature (add hot or cold water to adjust).

Just a 7-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. This was our favorite hotel in Japan! We stayed only one night to get to see the island of Miyajima a bit more, and staying here was such a nice experience. In particular, the dinner at the hotel was so special and delicious! You need to message them to make the reservation some days in advance, but they were always very responsive. The facilities of the hotel were really great: the public baths, the rooftop terrace, the footbath café. Finally, the staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa er með gufubað og heita laug, auk loftkældra gistirýma í Tsuyama, 200 metra frá Tsuyama Wonder-safninu. Beautiful! Nice room. Onsen was amazing. Dinner was delicious and the breakfast even better! Staff was exceptional.

Kinsuikan er staðsett í Miyajima, skammt frá Fimm hæða pagóðunni og Itsukushima-helgiskríninu. Boðið er upp á gistirými með ókeypis einkabílastæði og aðgang að jarðvarmabaði. Fantastic room with private onsen and side view of the Great Torii. Great kaiseki dinner.

Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa er staðsett í Miyajima og býður upp á gistirými sem eru aðeins fyrir fullorðna, garð og sameiginlega setustofu. The silence, the calm, the location, the room, the atmosphere. It was beautiful and it was worth every penny. I would have stayed a week.

Kansuitei Kozeniya er staðsett í 50 km fjarlægð frá Daijoji-hofinu og býður upp á gistirými í Tottori með aðgangi að hverabaði. Private bath to accommodate my tattoos.

Suminoe Ryokan er staðsett í Onomichi, aðeins 25 km frá Oogamiyama Omoto-helgiskríninu og býður upp á gistirými með sjávarútsýni, ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Old traditional Inn with a beautiful garden in the courtyard and views of the waterfront. Lots of common areas space. Our room had a garden view, was spacious, futons and pillows very comfortable. There is a good size fridge, a toilet, and a convenient sink for wash up and set all toiletries. Everything works well, wifi etc…onsen was very nice as well. The whole place is very clean and quiet, Breakfast and dinner are served in a room and you can enjoy the view of the garden if you leave the doors open, the food was very good, traditional Japanese. Fantastic location, basically across the street from the ferry we took for Onomichi. And by the bike path. The Main Street starts around the corner. All the staff is wonderful. The hostesses are incredibly kind, fun and caring, they will assist you with anything. They picked us up at the Setoda bus station, we were grateful. You can rent a bike nearby. Also I forgot my iPad on the JR train, they took the matter in their hands and I got it the next day!! We spent 3 nights and it was great. We will definitely come back if in the area again.

Hagi No Yado Tomoe er staðsett í 8 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá JR Higashihagi-lestarstöðinni og býður upp á aldagamalt, ekta japanskt andrúmsloft. A very nice place in an interesting town, quiet and pleasant. The breakfast and dinner are excellent and the onsen is very relaxing.. We recommend it!!
