The most wonderful stay at a property that was hands down the most luxurious one we stayed at whilst our two weeks in Japan. Describing the suite and the level of care that has gone into making this ryokan a pampering experience for guests in words would not do it justice. From the private onsen, Aesop products in the bathroom, fully stocked fridge everyday (all complimentary), huge and extra comfortable beds and incredible Japanese breakfast. We loved every second of our stay in Kanazawa and were so glad to add an extra night.

Nag-aalok ang UTAIMACHI ng accommodation sa Kanazawa na malapit sa Kanazawa Yasue Gold-Leaf Museum at Kazuemachi Tea House Street. Great location and the area was peaceful during evening and night. Beautiful historical buildings and streets. The room was excellent and it was renovated for modern comforts but they kept the traditional vibe. Lots of great tourist spots close by and within walking distance. Breakfast was good. Would totally recommend to anyone who would like to experience a night in an old Japanese house.

Close to the train station. Room is big and pretty. Very clean. The owner and staff were extremely helpful. It was raining heavily and they picked us up at the train station. We felt being warmly welcomed.

Beautifully designed, stylish and meticulously kept apartment with sitting area, kitchenette and bathroom. Spacious sleeping area with comfortable futon beds. Great location in a quiet residential area, walking distance to the river, shopping, Kenroku-en gardens and areas of interest. Bus nearby as well. The delicious and generous breakfast was served in a cafe 2 minutes walk away. Very responsive and kind English speaking host who helped with tourist information, excellent restaurant recommendations, and booking a taxi. Highly recommended.

This was a unique experience. Having a hot open air bath to the sounds of birds and a waterfall… unforgettable. Beautiful view from the room, the facilities are all new and clean, the staff were incredibly sweet and helpful

Beautiful ryokan just above Higashiyama with friendly staff, gorgeous rooms and lovely views overlooking Kanazawa. Dinner was tasty and the breakfast was very nice too, served in a room with garden views. Very charming!

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. Bungo and his mother runs this amazing ryokan and the familial feeling is everywhere and the place is very welcoming for travelers

Set in Kanazawa, 400 metres from Kanazawa Castle, Kinjohro features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. I loved how walkable notable sites were to Kinjohro.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. This ryokan was the highlight of our trip. The 5-person room offered a large space with closets, terraces, low and high tables, wooden wall ornaments, and painted sliding doors, for a memorable traditional stay. The room included the standard toilet and washroom, except for the shower. The public bath should be used for showering and bathing. Meals were served in a beautiful dining room at the agreed time. Breakfast and dinner included numerous small portions of traditional food. Although it was fish and vegetable-heavy, everything tasted good, and the meal size was more than enough for everyone. During dinner, the staff prepared futon beds in the room. They were very comfortable and we had a great sleep. However, futons are harder than mattresses and encourage sleeping on your back. The onsen was the main attraction. There were the inside and the outside hot baths, and the cold bath. The water is very dark and not transparent. It's supposed to have a very high pH and be good for skin. I believe this onsen offers great value for a reasonable price, probably because its location is not particularly famous.
