Marumo Ryokan is an authentic Japanese ryokan and is hands down the best we’ve ever stayed at. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, it is impeccably clean, and the meals are a delicious traditional feast. The hosts are very accommodating and thoughtful. We took the train to Omi-Iwazu and then rode back to Omi-Takashima, where we rented bikes to visit the Shirahige shrine. We also went to Makino to spend some time at the beach. Our entire group of five wished we had planned to stay for 2 or 3 nights instead of one. It was a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rest of our trip and we would hands down all choose to stay there again!

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and it easy to communicate with them. The ladies that presented the food at dinner were exceptional, explaining each dish in detail, and even assisted in frying the meats perfectly. An overall amazing experience

Biwako Ryokusuitei offers Japanese-style/Western rooms with Lake Biwako views, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Good location, friendly staff, good selection of food. Nice public and private baths!

Situated in Otsu, 16 km from Enryaku-ji Temple, Yumotokan offers accommodation with a hot spring bath, a hot tub and spa facilities. It was a great experience, the room was nice and clean, the meals were great, the staff were very friendly and professional. The first hour in the hotel and I'm already thinking of coming back on my next trip to japan.

Boasting a hot spring bath, Dantokan Kikunoya is located a 5-minute drive from JR Ogoto Onsen Station. Free pick-up from the station is available upon advance request. The staff here are incredible. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

Ryokan Beniayu er staðsett við Biwako-vatn og býður upp á gistirými í japönskum stíl með einkavarmabaði undir berum himni og nuddstól. Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. Especially Ms. Singh, good smiling face and fluent English speaking. Room was spacious and surprised to have a massage chair. Both dinner were delicious.

The Gran Resort Oumi Maiko býður upp á fjallaútsýni og gistirými með baði undir berum himni, garði og bar, í um 30 km fjarlægð frá Ruriko-in-hofinu. Right across from the beach. Had a great Onsen. Good Japanese style breakfast.

KAMENOI HOTEL Hikone er með jarðhitabað og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Það er í innan við 2,7 km fjarlægð frá Hikone-kastala og í 6 km fjarlægð frá Maibara-stöðinni. Amazing food, pleasant staff and great onsen. Frequent shuttles to and from train station was a plus.

Honmachi Juku er staðsett í Hikone, í innan við 1 km fjarlægð frá Hikone-kastala og 7,2 km frá Maibara-stöðinni. The hosts were very kind and do their best to adjust to my timing.
