Opened in June 2013, The Edo Sakura offers accommodation in a Japanese-style Machiya townhouse located a 5-minute walk from Iriya Subway Station and a 10-minute walk from JR Uguisudani Train Station. Great stay! Perfect location with pleasant and helpful staff. There’s also a fantastic local restaurant nearby.

Ryokan Sansuiso er aðeins 450 metra frá JR Gotanda-lestarstöðinni, á Yamanote-línunni. Það býður upp á hefðbundin japönsk gistirými með tatami-gólfum (ofinn hálmur), futon-rúmum og ókeypis WiFi. It is a nice and quaint location. If you are interested in experiencing more traditional Japanese hotel with tatami mats and sleeping on a futon, this is a good option for low price. Naturally it does not provide onsen and the very exotic Ryokan style food service. The owner is really nice. I can only form the most basic Japanese sentences and he does not speak a lot of English, but still we understood each other. Check-in and introductions for the room and the facilities was all done verbally. I only had to rely on a translator app when I requested a taxi to Shinagawa station during check-out. It is not a bad walk, but it was raining so I did not want to get myself and my luggage wet. Taxi fare was 1600 yen. If you are walking to the Ryokan from Shinagawa station, then I recommend planning your route to approach from the south. If you take the slightly smaller street towards the Gotanda Waterfront Plaza, the T-intersection at the end is a very good indicator you are very close by and do not need to worry about walking too far and missing your turn.

A 2-minute walk from Sendagi Subway Station, Japanese-style hotel Annex Katsutaro Ryokan features rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring and free Wi-Fi internet. I loved the location, the staff, the room was very nice and comfortable and I had my own bathroom. It was easy to get to and had all amenities necessary for comfort and practicality.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath. Gorgeous property and nice room. The staff was welcoming and this place made our stay special as very traditional and well located in Asakusa!

Situated 200 metres from Choen-ji Temple, 寅ホテル 御徒町 TORA HOTEL Okachimachi in Tokyo features rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. It is set 300 metres from Tokaku-ji Temple and offers a lift. There is a lift so no need to worry about carrying luggage. The room is spacious for 4 people. Everything is available from TV to kitchen cabinet to sofa to 4 comfortable thick beds to washing machine. Location is near to train station and bus stop but oddly enough the place is quiet at night so you can have peaceful sleep. This is a gem!

The hospitality and attention to detail was excellent. We felt at home and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Also the room was very cozy and gave us that authentic Japanese experience. Also the breakfast was very good.

Tokyo inn Sakura An er staðsett í Tókýó, 200 metra frá Tokyo Origami-safninu og 600 metra frá Chiisanagarasunohonno-safninu og býður upp á ókeypis reiðhjól og útsýni yfir hljóðláta götu. We absolutely loved staying in this very authentic Japanese property! The place is small but everything is so beautifully arranged and organised that it felt much larger. My kids loved the bunk beds that are built into a cupboard in the wall - it was an adventure for them to sleep there! The fridge was stocked with authentic Japanese drinks and snacks which we enjoyed trying out. Everything was incredibly clean and well organised and the host was very attentive and welcoming. The location is also really good - just 10 minutes walk across the river to the Akasuka neighbourhood.

Situated in Tokyo, within 1.5 km of Sensoji Temple and 2.2 km of Tokyo Skytree, Ryokan Nakadaya offers accommodation with a shared lounge. An amazing experience! This was my first time in Tokyo and I was very glad that the first place where I stayed was this Ryokan! For a solo traveler it was such a convenient, comfortable and cozy place! I did feel like in anime while coming home and experiencing traditional Japanese Ryokan! Also Mr.Tatsuya was incredibly hospitable and very friendly! He was showing many places in Tokyo, helping with all questions about the stay or about the trip, even sending all the locations from Google maps with recommendations! Every day he was saying “itterashai” when I was going out of the house and saying “ittekimas” - it was a little thing yet I actually felt like local living in Japan! :) And I also really enjoyed sleeping on traditional tatami, I slept like a baby!! Very thankful for such an incredible experience and highly recommend this place

Takanawa Hanakohro, a Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is located in Tokyo, 2.3 km from Ebisu Garden Place. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. The stay has been exceptional, more like resort stay, very relaxing and staff are welcoming.
