Opened in June 2013, The Edo Sakura offers accommodation in a Japanese-style Machiya townhouse located a 5-minute walk from Iriya Subway Station and a 10-minute walk from JR Uguisudani Train Station. Very good breakfast, good location close to subway

Ryokan Sansuiso er aðeins 450 metra frá JR Gotanda-lestarstöðinni, á Yamanote-línunni. Það býður upp á hefðbundin japönsk gistirými með tatami-gólfum (ofinn hálmur), futon-rúmum og ókeypis WiFi. Very short walk from/to JR Gotanda station (300m). Luckily we stayed on the ground floor so no need to carry luggages up the stairs. Family room was nice and spacious.

A 2-minute walk from Sendagi Subway Station, Japanese-style hotel Annex Katsutaro Ryokan features rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring and free Wi-Fi internet. It was nice and clean and very good value for money in Tokyo. Ten minutes walk through a pleasant area from Nippori station, so easy to reach places including Narita.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath. We stayed in the Kiku room. The room size is great for 2 people (about 15 square metres) and very clean. The bathroom is spacious for us. The location is fantastic, so close to Senso-ji Temple, Nakamise Street and the Asakusa train lines (Metro, Toei etc). The lobby has coffee and hot water machines where you can make your coffee and tea. Snacks are also provided. The hotel is also very quiet at night, and the ryokan have a noise curfew policy between 10 pm to 7 am. We are so glad that we chose to stay in the Asakusa area.

Situated 200 metres from Choen-ji Temple, 寅ホテル 御徒町 TORA HOTEL Okachimachi in Tokyo features rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. It is set 300 metres from Tokaku-ji Temple and offers a lift. It was super lovely! The facility is good. The house is cute and clean. Everything was new and stylish! The bed was sooo comfortable as well! Highly recommend for a group of 6 people for a comfy stay. I would definitely return here again

Tokyo inn Sakura An er staðsett í Tókýó, 200 metra frá Tokyo Origami-safninu og 600 metra frá Chiisanagarasunohonno-safninu og býður upp á ókeypis reiðhjól og útsýni yfir hljóðláta götu. The owner Mr Saito was very accommodating. He also provided us with everything that we need. We got snacks to eat for free and he is an amazing host. I love the facilities in the house and the toilet is one of a kind! The place is also near the subway and tourist spots. Walking distance from asakusa temples and shrines and also not far from Tokyo sky tree and sumida aquarium. Very convenient when you are travelling to and fro narita airport as the subway is only few minutes away that will take you directly at the airport.

Situated in Tokyo, within 1.5 km of Sensoji Temple and 2.2 km of Tokyo Skytree, Ryokan Nakadaya offers accommodation with a shared lounge. I stayed at Ryokan Nakadaya on the last leg of my Japan trip during spring. After having seen so much of that beautiful country over two busy weeks, I didn’t think Tokyo could get better than what I had already experienced. Little did I know, I would be so lucky to be in Tatsuo-san’s company. I received a warm welcome, and was showed around the property on arrival. I didn’t even have to carry my luggage to the room as Tatsuo-san took care of it. Each morning, he would ask which area of the city I am planning to visit, and would airdrop me the best recommendations – for food, sightseeing, shopping – you name it, including some rare locations like the Hayao Miyazaki clock which I loved! One morning when it was raining heavily, he offered me a fresh mochi along with some matcha, which was one of my favorite snacks in Japan. He would also perform a little ceremony sparking flint stones to bring me good luck on my travels. Starting my day with such cute interactions with Tatsuo-san was one of the most wonderful highlights of my trip. It felt like I made a friend! As far as the property goes – it’s a charming, vintage ryokan. Each corner is speckless – not only were the common areas cleaned every day by hardworking staff, but so were the rooms. The showers and bathrooms were always clean too, despite being shared. There was also a lobby-like area where you could have tea and enjoy some Japanese snacks. The (single) room itself is a good size for someone who is staying there as a traveler, as you would likely be venturing out during the day. I found the Tatami mats and the futon to be perfect for me as I don’t prefer extremely soft hotel beds, but Tatsuo-san did offer to put more mattresses, in case I wanted them. Like in any ryokan, you have to be careful not to damage the mats, but there are enough shelves and furniture to park your luggage and other bags comfortably. The internet was also fast.

Takanawa Hanakohro, a Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is located in Tokyo, 2.3 km from Ebisu Garden Place. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Hanakohro offered a peaceful and comfortable retreat where time and expenses were never a concern. Everything was taken care of, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy the experience, which included exploring the unique lounges, garden and buildings on the grounds. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding, making us feel at home.
