Menton is such a beautiful city in a perfect location, it has a bit of an Italian influence as it is so close to the border, so you get the best of both worlds. The restaurants are fabulous & the atmosphere was lovely, eating outside soaking up the ambience. It has great shops & enough to do, from chilling on the beach & swimming to shopping & visiting the Botanical gardens, St Michel Basilica, the old cemetery on the hill & the casino. It is all very walkable & you can easily use the efficienct train service to visit nearby Monaco, Ventimiglia over the border in Italy ( remember your passports), Eze & Nice.AAnonymous - Scored 1010

Menton is right on the border with Italy. Other towns on the French Riviera have more history and many have art museums, but Menton has a nice laid-back resort vibe. As far as I could tell, many of the other tourists were there for more extended trips than my three-day stay.
