I live in northern Tasmania. Hobart is our modestly sized capital city in the south. It is a city that is easy to navigate with absolutely MAJOR historically important Australian cultural sites within a couple of hours' reach. Most people do not realise that Hobart is Australia's SECOND settlement after Sydney, older than Melbourne. Food is amazing. Culturally exciting. What a beautiful historical yet modern city, the people are friendly and happy to assist. getting around town is easy. it's been over 20 years since I last visited Hobart. Just an amazing city with strong character and personality.
Just an amazing city with strong character and personality. We were able to explore the Salamanca Market which takes place every Saturday and we would highly recommend prospective travellers to build their trip around Saturday for this experience. The city as a whole had so many amazing cafes, bars, whisky tasting experiences and food everywhere you turned.
