Great stay! we were surprised by how rich the breakfast was, as it offered all sorts of breakfast styles as a buffet so you could choose what you felt like eating. The quality of the food was very good as well. We also had dinner there one night, and that did not disappoint! The bedrooms were spacious and silent at night. They provided us with everything we needed during our stay (umbrellas, adaptors for electrical sockets, toiletries, etc.). Overall very positive experience.

Kanazawa is a city that beautifully combines its rich history with modern charm.
Our highlights included exploring the traditional samurai district and the charming Higashi Chayamachi district.
As the kanji of Kanazawa, we also tried in local specialties like gold leaf-covered ice cream.

A very quiet city but have a vibe of big city. Many shop closed at 8 pm and the city become quiet after that time. No subway but only JR to go other city. Local attraction can reach either by walking distance or public bus.

Kanazawa is great if you are into arts and crafts and want to buy hand crafted souvenirs. Another reason to visit is to drink sake as the city has really old distilleries. The city has a Jazz scene, I was able to visit one Jazz bar where they played records, it was excellent. It also has several amazing gardens, including one of three most amazing gardens in Japan called Kenroku-en. It apparently manages to achieve all 6 important garden principles in a single garden which is said to be extremely hard. City is walkable and have a large bus network. Another reason is that you can do day trips to Shirakawa-go and Takayama, there are many tours and they are well worth doing. Shirakawa-go is simply amazing. Finally, the Shinkansen line going to Tokyo has beautiful views.

The Castle grounds, museum of modern art, night lit botanical garden and the acquarium are excellent, and my kids also had a good time climbing the various rock formations/ sitting on a boatride to see the sea caves, and soaking in the sakura. (the latter 3 activities require a drive out of Kanazawa itself)
Make sure to visit the Aquarium! Family friendly, well curated, and very reasonably priced.
Be sure to eat at the seafood market - the sea urchin and unagi on offer will speak for itself

Kanazawa is a beautiful city.
Kanazawa is a beautiful city. The castle and park are wonderful especially with the Sakura in bloom. It is easy and cheap to get around and the food choices are excellent. We particularly enjoyed the cocktail bar Furansu - exceptional cocktails
While the hotel is about 25 minutes walk from the JR station, it is right behind the Kanazawa Castle making it a prime location for sight-seeing. There are also lots of great places to eat at including Chocotea across the street for taiyaki and Poncco next door for tea during the day and drinks at night. We were able to see all the museums and explore Kanazawa by foot due to the great location. Room was average sized, dinos were a great touch, and it had what we needed.
Good price. But we cannot stress the amazing location. Our main purpose of this visit was to eat seafood and this hotel is right in front of the Omichi market. It's walking distance to the station, Higashichaya, Oyama Shrine (thought which you can enter Kanazawa castle and Kenrouken) and Nagamachi district.
The hotel has free coffee in the lobby and came with 4 Nespresso pods in the room. That was something I haven't experienced in a budget hotel.
I love the Dormy Inn chain: they have a lot of amenities and such a great breakfast buffet for a good price. The hotel in Kanazawa had a amazing breakfast with fresh seafood donburi, tempura, lots of japanese options.
The onsen was great, as was the manga library. Rooms are great, a twist of traditional and modern. The entire hotel breathes zen and quiet (except the madness at the breakfast buffet during crowded hours).
Such a great room for the price - Incredible value. Rooms are on the small side (which is typical in Japan), but comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, they helped us make reservations at local restaurants and recommended activities in the area. The hotel is just steps away from Omicho Market and Kanazawa castle park, so it’s in a very convenient location. Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed the Japanese breakfast we had as it was very filling. The staff were very helpful and nice. It was great that there was a laundry room as we had a lot of laundry to do by the time we reached Kanazawa. The room was well laid out and we liked that it had a patio. The hotel was within walking distance of the Omicho Market, restaurants and shopping areas.
Cozy room, very clean, located into a brand new hotel. The room has got all the facilities you may need like coffe machine, water kettle etc etc. Near the train station and all the amenities of Kanazawa. Super kind and gentle staff. Japanese style breakfast that we loved. Little cadeaux offered to the guests <3. Highly recommend! Love from Italy
The bed was comfortable. The washer/dryer was good to have, though it didn't dry the clothes all the way, even after running half the clothes through for an extra dry cycle.
The bath was nice, which is std for hotels in Japan. The location was GREAT; so convenient for most of the attractions in Kanazawa.
Absolutely phenomenal value for money. The best room we stayed in during our time in Japan. It was 2-3 times bigger than some other hotels. The location was extremely convenient with easy access to downtown, Omicho market, Kenroku-en garden and basically everything since Kanazawa is quite walking friendly.
Next to 7 11 and near to kanazawa JR train station. The room is big and can accomodate 4 people in 1 room which one very rare in japan hotel with reasonable price. The room have a complete amenities even skincare 😍. The staff can speak english eventhough this is a local hotel chain.
Kanazawa is an incredible place to be, and frankly I couldn't think of any better hotel to stay at, what an experience, fantastic staff, great location, great food......you MUST upgrade to the "lounge" level. We ate there every night, no need to go out, the food was that good!
The hotel had a traditional Japanese style room with tatami mats and futons to sleep on. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided a lot of great information about things to do in Kanazawa and the location was central to everything we wanted to do.
This is the best hotel I stayed in Japan in my entire 10 day trip. The hotel is nee, clean. The room is spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It closes to many attraction. I will stay here again if I visit Kanazawa in the future
Love love it , best stay I have experience in Japan lovely & super sweet staff , the room large and the bathroom so clean with nice interior 🤍🇯🇵 definitely will book same hotel 🇯🇵😩✌️ hope soon I can back for beautiful Kanazawawa
Great location - we walked to and from Kanazawa station to the hotel and were easily able to walk around to see the sights directly from the hotel.
Clean room, reasonable size.
By far the best value hotel we stayed in whilst in Japan.
The location of the hotel was superb. The room big with good views and the option of having an individual washing machine was perfect for being in the middle of a long trip. Nothing to regret to discover Kanazawa.
Very clean and wide space! We loved the kimono’s they put out for us and the traditional house experience! It is a little far from Nikko hikes and Kanazawa onsen, but Japan’s metro system is so nice.
Really nice hotel, especially for the price. Everything feels new and clean, and though you're a bit far from JR Kanazawa station, you're in a central area near the main "attractions".
