Santiago is an awesome city.
Santiago is an awesome city. The people are wonderful and there are so many great restaurants. The metro system is the best in South America - clean efficient and safe. I would recommend la Biferia for excellent wine and steak, and la giratorio for something a little bit gimmicky but also awesome.

Interesting city with easy access metro system.
Interesting city with easy access metro system. Highlights included San Cristobal Hill for the view and the main square. Due to the issues with pickpockets and street crime, it does require being hypervigilant with your valuables. We were touring the area around the Central Market when a local man approached us (2 women) and warned us that we were not safe in that area and needed to leave. Uber was the best way to get around and very cheap.

I had my necklace grabbed off my neck in the middle of the day near the main square. Very high crime rate. I did not feel safe walking around even during the day and came home straight after dinner each night. We liked Lastarria district at night for dinner. Sommelier Hotel rooftop bar was great although very heavy smokers everywhere.

I was very overwhelmed (in a good way) by the vibrancy of the city. It was very clean, safe, with nice people and great weather. I had no idea what to expect but I am already thinking about when I can return!

Great city to visit surrounded by magnificent mountains.
Great city to visit surrounded by magnificent mountains. The funicular, garden on top of San Cristobal Hill, teleferico, various shopping areas can be easily accessed with hop on/hop off bus.
Did not like Santiago Airport. Not because it is big, but because comfort of passengers was not considered as its first priority when designed.
Very close to the airport and airport shuttle service runs well but it can be improved. The times of the shuttle are really estimates and so my pick up time from the airport was delayed by about 45 mins. Very nice, spacious, and clean rooms. Breakfast was surprisingly good for this price. Staff for the most attentive except for one person at the front desk during check-in. I was allowed to keep part of my luggage stored at the hotel until 6p the day I checked out.
This is a comfortable and convenient hotel, 10 minutes away from Santiago airport. We stayed here on 2 occasions when transiting through Santiago and enjoyed it both times. It's a modern hotel with big rooms, beds and bathrooms. They have a gym, a pool, and a sauna (which wasn't working when we stayed). They also offer free airport shuttles to/from the airport which run every half an hour or so, and have a storage room for baggage
The staff at the front desk were so kind and helpful! They also spoke English so that was great.
The room was big with a kitchenette, a balcony and AC. Best of all the bed was big and very comfortable!
Location was good as it is very close to the city center and walking distance to most sites. Good food and bars around as well but not directly next to the hotel so it is quiet at night.
I would definitely stay here again!
Wonderfully designed boutique hotel with extremely helpful staff. The Pisco sours at the terrace were great. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The location is great, right across the street from Cerro Santa Lucia, and just a few blocks from Plaza de Armas. About a mile walk to Cerro San Cristobal.
The neighborhood may not be the best at night, but the staff are always on the lookout for your well being!
The location was perfect: It was close to the tallest builing in Santiago, the new large shopping mall and a Hop-on Hop off bus stop #9. It was on the street where there are other good tourist hotels that made the area safe. Welcome Pick up service (not by the hotel) took us from the airport to the hotel straight and then took us to the airport on the day when we were leaving. It was very efficient.
We loved this hotel! The location, although a bit far from downtown Santiago, is a really nice and safe area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and there’s a metro station just down the street. The staff are absolutely lovely!!! The room was clean, bathroom was clean and breakfast was simple but great. The bathroom is a little small but it did the job! For the price, it was perfect!
Close to airport. Clean and well maintained. Good food options in the restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Free transportation if booked in advance.
There are 4 hotels in the proximity- Hotel Diego and City Express on one side of the Highway and Hotel Hilton and La Quinta on the other side. You can easily get Uber on the City Express side but not if you stay on Hilton side.
This is my go-to hotel in Santiago. The location, the ambience and the decor are selling points enough, but it's the dedication and personal attention of the staff that makes this boutique hotel special. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are tranquil and the patio area is great. Close to Los Leones metro station, a short walk to Costanera Center and several nice restaurants.
It's not a large hotel but it is very modern and well equipped and very well staffed. Most importantly its location directly overlooking the Park Forestal, close to the very touristic Lastarria district, the MNBA and Bellas Artes station make it a very good choice indeed to visit Downtown Santiago on foot.
Just loved everything about Matilda’s. The staff was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious!!! The grounds were beautiful and the inside was gorgeous. Quaint, cute, historic boutique hotel. The location is wonderful. Can’t wait to come again.
We stayed on a high floor with beautiful views of the city. The bed was comfortable and internet speed good. It was a short distance walk from the subway. The neighborhood felt very safe. The hotel can arrange transportation to the airport.
I like that you can walk to this hotel from either terminal of the airport, I like that the lobby after check in is locked, you need a key card to enter.
The staff was 5 star, all very kind and helpful.
Breakfast and facilities are perfect for a relaxed stay in Santiago. Hotel is very well located. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Shower is the best one I had in South America
A lovely small hotel in the heart of Santiago, we walked everywhere - even to the Costanera Center. Close to the airport bus too. The staff were friendly and always available.
For me, the best was the location. I had meeting at ECLAC, that it's so close to the hotel. Also, the restaurant at the 9th floor was excellent, the food and the view!
