I could have spent all day at the Palace and another exploring the array of very high quality shops in the lovely winding streets. The cathedral is worth a visit for those interested in architecture, history, etc. or who just appreciate the remarkable efforts humans put into their religious monuments. It is an active religious site, so proper dress and respectful behavior are requested. A stroll along the canal was very pleasant. I did not have enough time to do any of it justice. I walked everywhere. Ask hotel staff which way to go to the palace: GPS doesn't know there is only one entrance and will take you to the outside wall only, FAR from the entrance.

Perpignan is a lively place, cleaner and neater than some other southern French cities. The historical sites are not particularly thrilling, but it's pleasant to wander around the old town and there is always something going on - the annual festival of photojournalism while we were there. The beach resorts of Canet and Sainte-Marie are within easy reach.
Recommended excursions: Céret, Collioure (each a cheap 40-min bus ride away if you can figure out the eccentric timetable) + the Red Train along the Fenouillèdes valley west of Perpignan - with very knowledgeable guides! Details from Tourist Office

Like many visitors to the town, we were drawn to the town by the chance to watch the Catalans Dragons rugby league club play at Stade Gilbert Brutus. However, there is so much more that the town has to offer travellers.
The town centre is crammed with beautiful architecture, quirky shops, bars and cafes and lots of history. Meanwhile, for just a euro you can catch a forty minute bus down to the coast (we chose Collioure). A brilliant trip whether visiting with family or friends. We will definitely be back soon.

Historical castle with old town.
Historical castle with old town. Quiet provincial French town with an interesting looking medieval heart that is undergoing restoration.
We walked around Perpignan, well signposted. The locals are friendly and helpful. We ate at a restaurant close to the train station the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The Pizza place close to town was a bit more expensive but food was tasty and staff helpful. The dinner at The Steakhouse was food but quite expensive again the staff were helpful and friendly.
Location is ideal
Very close to the train and bus station
The balcony room we had, had great views over the mountains
Nice large room with kitchenette but there is no kettle. It would be great if they can add a kettle to the kitchenette as well
The car park next to the hotel is one of the cheapest in Perpignan and Lidl and other supermarkets plus a couple of restaurants at the train station.
Perpignan city centre is very walkable from here so if you don't have a car, getting around won't be a problem
Room very clean and bed was so comfortable. Free parking. We have stayed here a few times before and it served our purposes really well. Even so, the location was a little limited for facilities. However, since our last visit, there is a lovely bar which has opened just maybe 100 yards away. You don't have to cross any roads, the staff are lovely, and the drinks are very reasonably priced. There's a Lidl next to the hotel, so any last minute needs for your onward journey are well catered for.
From arrival to departure the proprietors did everything they possibly could to make my stay enjoyable including advice on tourist sites, local shops and restaurants. The breakfast with homemade delicacies is excellent. The location of the hotel near the railway station and local bus services for trips out of Perpignan, whilst being 10 minutes on foot from the centre of Perpignan, is extremely convenient.
A cosy small hotel. It was very clean. The beds were absolutely comfortable. The bathroom had a big shower and separate toilet. The garden was beautiful with modern garden furniture and Mediterranean trees and plants. The breakfast was good as well. They even had fresh orange juice.
We always stay here on our journey from Germany to Spain. I absolutely recommend this hotel!!
We stayed during our tour of southern France, July 2023, and I have to say what a lovely hotel with a great pool and local restaurant's in particular the Indian which is 8 minutes away, the staff were amazing and so helpful, we will visit again in the future, clean rooms, safe parking and fantastic value, highly recommend, Mr k hanna, birmingham, England.
I came to Hotel de la Loge after staying in a place without air conditioning on the hottest nights in France. This was a welcome relief. The area is lovely. The staff are friendly. And they looked after my bike in the foyer and even though no one was on the front desk overnight there was someone there keeping an eye on things which was very reassuring.
Nice first floor room overlooking the park; we had booked a privilege room. Option of an express breakfast rather than the full buffet. Off road parking (under the hotel), however, there are limited spaces and reservation would be essential. Very convenient for exploring the centre of Perpignan and the park opposite the hotel.
The apartment is lovely and just as pictured. It is bright and airy, comfortable opening windows but also has AC. The location is perfect, near shopping and many restaurants. The host was very accommodating and check-in went smoothly. I definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Perpignan.
good location. clean. contemporary furnishings. Breakfast was available and looked great, but we never made it (jet lag, and no need to be in a tight schedule). staff was fantastic. owner/manager was very helpful and friendly. Perpignan is a lively city and worth a visit!
The hotel is conveniently located just off the Autoroute and a few minutes drive to Perpignan center. Rooms are large and clean. Beautiful dining and bar area around the pool. All staff and service were friendly, efficient and really wonderful.
Hotel was situated just at the train station which was ideal for onward travel . Oldtown was just 15 minutes walk away , with lots of restaurants , cafes and shops , Perpignan is a beautiful city and well worth a few days stay .
Immediately outside Perpignan train station with 24hr front desk, very convenient for a stopover between trains! We were only in hotel from 12AM-5AM for the changeover of trains, but impressed during this time.
Good location for train/buses to arrive, go to see perpignan and further afield to the beach and barcelona.
Good bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Staff were all friendly and helpful
Amazing guesthouse with excellent hosts and a delicious breakfast. Free and secure parking is a great addition also. Would definitely stay there again on a visit back to Perpignan!
