Great location, very clean facilities and room was comfortable. We even saw penguins down by the water and one cheeky one next to our cabin late one night! The staff are friendly and happy to help with suggestions on what to do and see while staying in Stanley. The coastline is very spectacular and to think you are right on the edge of Tasmania is amazing. Close to drive to other areas such as the Tarkine Drive and then make your way down to Cradle Mountain, Strauhn and Queenstown or back over east towards, Burnie, Penguin and Launceston, with lots of lovely side drives along the way.
Situated in Stanley, within 500 metres of Godfreys Beach, Church Street Villas offers accommodation with air conditioning.

It was so open plan living, it was warm and the view was wonderful. Short walk to town. The property had everything needed for home cooking and relaxation. Penguins across the road in front of the caravan park and the nut behind us. Could not fault a thing. Wonderfull stay here and would recommend to anyone.

The room was well equipped and very comfy. The heated floors in the bathroom were the best! And the breakfast was to die for, so tasty and homemade.

We loved everything about Ellie’s Studio Cottage. Ideal location tucked away in the centre of main street of town, close to the hotel, cafes, shops & galleries. Wonderful spacious studio, comfy bed, fully equipped kitchenette / dining area, ensuite with plenty of hot water. TV, books, DVDs. Appreciated the electric blanket & R/C aircon on these wintery days. Ellie has thought of everything guests may need. Loved all the little touches like a jar of cookies, bowl of sweets & even a bottle of Calvin Klein perfume - which is now a new favourite!! The info folder has everything visitors need to know about Stanley. Off-street parking too… plus a lovely courtyard for warmer days. 5*****

Stanley has a uniqueness perhaps unmatched anywhere else in our beautiful country and may perhaps be similar to wonderful little villages in the south east of England.

Stanley is a unique location with a rich history. Staying at the Ship Inn helped us to appreciate this location and its history. Excellent eating places within easy walking distance - Stanley Hotel provided a very enjoyable meal; Hurseys is a must visit with great seafood dishes, with an array of other options. Stanley is very easy to get around both on foot and by car. Only one bowser for petrol provided a challenge, but is easily managed. A great place to visit.

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around.
Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.
Wow, this accom was a taste of luxury. Such beautiful rooms. Loved everything. So nice to stay here, really uplifting. The bath was so pretty and room for two. Bed and pillows comfy. Oodles of food included and left in fridge. Fantastic views. The first night was really windy so everything rattled as the wind howled, wild and thrilling. The second night was peaceful and calm, really quiet. Slept well both nights. Honestly, the only place I'd stay in Stanley.
One of the greatest places in Tasmania!
We have been to several places for our friends but this place was the best so far :)
The fire place was set up nicely and the balcony area has enough space for us to have bbq and speaker was set up as well ! Plus, a little gaming area was entertaining:) definitely will come back some day again ! Thank you so much !
We like everything about village waterfront accommodation. The staff was very welcoming and informative of the local area, and I would certainly recommend staying in this beautiful accommodation and area. We also felt so comfortable in a beautiful location. Also, I have to mention the bed and pillow were like sleeping in a cloud.....
Stanley Seaview Inn was absolutely fabulous, such a great place to stay - the views from the bar are magnificent, enjoying a lovely afternoon with a few drinks, cheese platter and great conversation we thoroughly enjoyed everything
