For someone trying to escape the Summer heat should travel to the Queen of Hills i.e. OOTY ! It's not only peacefull and beautiful but also is a melting pot of cultures. Loved the tea estates, chocolate factory, tea factory and the people there are very kind too.

If you drive to Ooty, you better be an exceptional driver as most of the roads are either uphill OR downhill.
The important spots that I visited with my family are
1) Botanical Garden
2) Rose Garden
3) Doddabetta Peak
4) Train Station/Journey (to Coonoor)
5) Tea Garden (best for photos)
6) Tea/Chocolate factory (worth the visit at least once)
7) Government Museum (History Museum in the first Stone house)
8) Emerald lake (although very less water but worth the visit for the landscape and the scenery).
9) Pine forest (visit this place only if you love the nature and to walk in between the pine trees for some photos, otherwise it is long drive)
Getting around Ooty is easy if you have the GPS or at least know the routes very well otherwise you will never know where you will end up, especially the places where you can't take U-turn.

Ooty is crowded these days.
Ooty is crowded these days. I would prefer to stay in connor next time. The traffic was horrible and it was not peaceful to just go sightseeing.
But the weather was nice and cozy to stay inside the homestay.

If you wanna enjoy the nature with relaxing experience, then avoid going to Ooty during weekends / extended weekends as mostly working professionals from Bangalore & Mysore visit which makes the traffic a terrific thing in the city.
The guy who was talking to my phone was like he doesn’t wants me to use booking.com.He told me that checkin is 6 and when I called he was like the rooms is sold out please come directly after canceling the booking in booking.com.Once I get into the room the room was disaster. There was stain everywhere in the bedsheet feels like they didn’t change the linen.Blanket was smelling like pee and overall the room and staff are disaster and unprofessional.
Please don’t go there you can find a lot better options in the ooty.
Haribabu is really a good person, very helpful in nature. He helps a lot beyond his capability. Room is suitable to spend leisure time only for one night. Because room is top of the hill in THELAS which is 20 km away from coonoor. Cottage is 2 km away from Thelas bus stop. If you want to go there you have to pay 200 rs every time for that. But Haribabu pays all the price every time if you want to go Thelas bus stop. Haribabu provides all the fecility which are mentioned in booking.com.
When i was booked that hotel via booking.com, at the time shown room rent Rs.1300only per day ,but they charged 2500 per night and told me don't book in the website in booking.com.
i am planned for staying 2 night, but checkout one day ,due to not worth for 2500/per night & not available room service,
Kindly note all travelers anything you want you are only going outside and buy like morning tea & coffee & water etc.. ,,,
Away from city hustles-bustles, it’s a peaceful secluded stay. Room interiors seems renovated recently so it’s super clean & has vintage vibes. Amazing room interior, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had pre booked meal , whatever we ordered was a treat to the palate. Breakfast was again very tasty & like home cooked . One of the best stays & meals I have ever had in a hotel.
Will surely come again if I visit Ooty again.
The hotel staffs are very kind and nice. The hotel stay seems soothing when you will get a family type environment and thats what I felt after staying nearly half a month there. Would like to call out few names who helped me a lot during my stay- Amrit bhai , Badal bhai from reception , Mr Sanjay from chef and from housekeeping - Ritesh, Debjyoti and Sukendra.
It's a one of a time lifetime experience. Fully natural stay. If you have lived in cities your whole life this will jolt you out of it. It is ridiculously awesome to wake up with the sun and sleep seeing the stars. This location is awesome and the view is so much better than any of the other matchbox hotels in Ooty.
The staffs are really good...The views and the campus of the hotel is just wowww...If you come to Ooty, stay at ZOSTEL...the food service is awesome...And Murli bhai is exceptionally awesome..he is very supportive and helpful.
Thank you Murli bhai
The hotel was beautiful. Manager Kamal Das Gupta was very friendly helpful. I went alone but I never felt I was alone. Manager helped me with cab booking my return ticket booking. Breakfast was nice.

Great hotel with a really nice view on Ooty lake, the food in the restaurant is really delicious, specially the chinese food. Room was clean and well equipped. Staffs very nice.
Except location nothing is satisfactory
The hotel overcharged, whatever committed by Booking.com
They are cheaters.
